So my 2019 OR was broken into for the 2nd time last night. I’m pretty good about locking it up. There is no sign of forced entry.

I have the key with the transducer. Assuming it was locked, how do the bad guys gain entry?

Is there a simple door alarm that I could install?

There are several ways they can get in. One method is putting in an airbag and pumping it up enough to get a stick in and hit the unlock button. This should cause the alarm to go off though.

    Another is picking the lock.

Another is copying the code your key emits. However, if they did this they would have likely taken the entire truck. You could get a faraday envelope for the key or just turn it off by holding the lock button and hitting the unlock button twice while still holding the lock button.

Not sure the area you live in, but most thieves are opportunists and aren't generally breaking into things that are locked. There are always exceptions though.

Don't leave anything of value in the truck. If there is nothing to take when they get inside they won't keep coming back. Keep your registration and insurance ID in your wallet, not the glove box.

I agree with @RedWings44. The vast majority of auto burglaries are crimes of opportunity. They tend to check doors, and if it's locked they move on. Seems like you're dealing with particularly determined scum, so don't give them a reason to come back. And get a ring stick-up camera if your parking situation allows it.

If you have a push to start ignition you should your remote off when you park it.

this, you could add a vehicle alarm with more doodads, but if you are simply wanting the horn to go off when the door is opened without the fob, most already have this.

That sucks. Unfortunately locks only keep honest people out. It's hard to understand how someone would have no respect and violate your truck like that. Here's a couple of low cost suggestions:
    1. Install an interior motion sensor with a loud siren alarm inside the truck
    2. Install a second one that notifies you by text or email if the truck is broken into.

They should be easy to find and probably lots of YouTube videos on the subject.

And it goes without saying not to leave ANYTHING visible, except a couple of used-looking napkins on the passenger seat. Sometimes it's good practice to "trash out" your own vehicle a little!

    Good luck man.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Put a rat trap in an old wallet and leave it on the seat with the door unlocked

Sounds like they managed to copy your key fob rf since no alarm is triggered or the are bypassing it from that headlight wiring hack.
