Learn to play steel tip darts, it is popular in your area. Local weekly tournaments pay out money $$$$$, plus there is a State tournament in January. I would suggest joining a league first, this is a good way to meet a lot of good people and it is fun if your competitive.

here's a quick example of saving yourself some money:
i wanted a desk, found one at a local furniture store, quartesawn white oak....$3500:eek: and half of it was plywood. Took some measurements, went to the lumbermill and bought the wood...$600:D. It's solid wood throughout and made to last.

Very well done! Definitely want to try woodworking someday. That's impressive.

I know this thread's a little old but I think it's worth bumping back up.

Try cooking! You can get into local BBQ and chili competitions; those are always fun.
Art is great - painting, drawing, pottery, sculpture... You can make money with it, if you're willing to part with your beloved creations...
Music. If you can't play anything, pick one and learn!
    Poker, but be careful. lol

Edit: One more idea: it's a bit out there, but when I was in middle and high school, for science/physics projects a few of my friends and I got together and built a medeival-style catapult. Building old-school siege engines and launching things is inexplicably fulfilling. Internet search "punkin chunkin". You can build catapults, trebuchets, ballistas... of any size. It's a blast. Might want to check in to a permit or something, though. We were kids doing it in corn fields so we got away with it. :)
