Hey everybody it’s great to be back. I haven’t been on here in a couple years
I had a beautiful dark blue 2008 TRD sport manual. I was forced to sell it about five years ago because I was in a snow machine accident and got banged up pretty badly and I wasn’t able to push my clutch in.
so now that I’m better I’m currently trying to figure out which Tacoma I would like to purchase next. I definitely want to go with a manual again
I’m kind of torn between an older model or a 2025 Trd off-road or a 2025 Trd sport
I live in northern Ontario. The winters are cold and I’m also a bow Hunter and I have a large German Shepherd.
I would really appreciate your guys‘s thoughts
    Thanks in advance

    Ide reconsider the manual....
Yes, cool when we were kids..
Just more wear items to worry about, not so much fun to drive anymore....
Just nice to be on easy street & deal with 2 pedals & cruise.
Thats my 2 cents, to each their own though...

Go drive a new one, you will love it...
You said cold, the cold weather package with the heated seat & heated steering wheel are great...
Ive always been anti heated seat person, but thats steering wheel.....

I have a sport, I think the hood is gay......
I have power seats, no idea if thats an option in an offroad.
If I was to get a 4x4, ide probably opt for an offroad over the sport.
Its a tough call though, painted fender flares, or black fender flares.....

I am bias....towards the 3rd Gen. I think you can get a more reliable and more support with aftermarket stuff than the 4th gen. Then again, the 4th Gen is also pretty impressive in some aspects. The sky is the limit here. Good luck!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Buy a new one and call it a day.

Some considerations. Budget, maintenance and ergonomics. Differences between the 3rd gen & the 2020 refresh. 4th gen changes to seating as well. Test drive those in both auto and manual.

I love my 2nd gen manual, I prefer manuals. Now if I had to drive in bumper to bumper traffic everyday like some people do yea I'd opt for an auto but until then or I can no longer drive one I'm sticking with manuals as long as I can.

I'd say test drive one of each gen if you can find one (they tend to be hard to find) and see what you like.

As I age, the remote start gets used more and more.

Very few remote start options for the manual versions.

Once you've used the remote start to warm up the truck, your next truck will have remote start.

That would be nice to have in the summer here but it's not a necessity, would be nice if Tacos got the option like the 5th gen 4Runners have to remotely roll down the windows. I'd use that feature all the time in the summer.

    They do....
Theres a inexpensive device you get on Amazon called carista & you can program a long hold on your key fob to roll down your windows.
Along with using it to activate & de-activate all sorts of other features, turn off all the dingers & annoying buzzers, seat belt chimes, etc...
