    new guy again. i have been looking at different topics about exhaust all day and i just dont know whats best for a deeper exhaust on my 06 4x4 4 cyl. i was thinking about putting a chery bomb on it or a thrush muffler. any opinions or suggestions for a cheap fix?:confused:

    what do you have now? i personally would recommend a magnaflow. have it on mine and it does not sound like any other 4 banger i've heard, more comparable to a wrx with a flow thru. these are big engines (for a 4 cylinder) and any option would do you good. i also have a header, so that may make a difference, but let it be noted that the stock manifold is not your typical, it has runners and a 4 to one collector and resembles a header more than anything, so you could live without imo. also magnaflows are flow thru, and are a decent value.

    I gotta Flow Master Super 44 on my truck and it sounds great...not sure about the 4 banger though. I think instead of a throaty sound it'll get more ricey sounding for the 4 cyl but i'm not sure

    magnaflow and my truck do not sound "ricey."
    belive me i know what ricey sounds like, i live in central cal, riced up hondas and integras everywhere.
    i was prepared for the ricey outcome but surprised it wasn't.
    magnaflow=not ricey 2.7l
    you can trust me, I'm a doctor.

    i too have magnaflow on a 2.7l 4 banger. nice deep non-ricy sound. like said before it kinda sounds like a wrx

    imo it sounds deeper than a 4.0 v6 with an exhaust

    lol my friend has the 4 banger, and i have a 6; you can really tell the difference between the power and the sound. I have a Magnaflow and it sounds real good, and with the 4 cyl you can make it sound a lot better, but you can still tell its just a 4 cyl....

    these 4bangers, they can be louder than v6ers, and yes they can be deep without being ricey.
    just a thought....
