Thank you all for the feedback. I did make a purchase today but will plead the 5th. LOL. I feel that I can't take the pressure or at least live up to my own expectations. At least its running now. Guys from work were looking for a camera today because I had another co-worker use his Ford Ranger to jump my Taco. In my defense, I told the others it was just a coincidence that he stalled pulling in the parking lot and stopped right in front of my truck. Haha. Thanks again. Long live the "Taco" with no preservatives.

Got to vote for the red top optima too. It's been in the truck for 4 yrs and not a problem out of it. Great battery!

I had a red top in my old toyota and didnt have a problem for two years. Out of no where I noticed that my truck wasn't kicking over as easy. I was shocked to find out that optima had eaten it. I have heard from lots of people that interstate is the way to go. My only advice is no matter who you go with is that you get a deep cycle battery.

sorry....confused. go BACK to sears? does that imply you are on your third batt. including OEM? i've got a hella huge stock battery that comes with the tow package and don't forsee having to change it for another 5 years at least (truck is '06). are you sure you don't have any electrical issues?

    Actually,according to Comsumer Reports....

Most auto batteries are made by just three manufacturers, Delphi, Exide, and Johnson Controls Industries. Each makes batteries sold under several different brand names. Delphi makes ACDelco and some EverStart (Wal-Mart) models. Exide makes Champion, Exide, Napa, and some EverStart batteries. Johnson Controls makes Diehard (Sears), Duralast (AutoZone), Interstate, Kirkland (Costco), Motorcraft (Ford), and some EverStarts.

Interstate makes optima too i do belive, at least i get optima batteries off the truck that says interstate on the side of it. I had a yellow top optima on my old Accord for about 5 years and it started great every single time... The yellows are deep cycle batteries technically so they are designed to be fully discharged then charged again without significant harm to the battery.

By going back to Sears, I mean that Sears is the place I've gone to in the past. Previous cars/trucks and even our current Highlander needed the battery replaced...so I took it to Sears. It's by default I guess!

Try stopping by the library to look at the consumer reports. They have an article with ratings. I read it about a year ago, I think they were in favor of Wal-Mart. My family uses Kirkland for commuter vehicles, and Les Schwab for bigger power needs. Optima is kind of a duh thing when you need that level of power, but for most people it's overkill.

Those of you not in the Northwest may not know the Schwab... too bad for you!
