My exhaust now has 4 patched rust holes and last week a hanger ripped free and left an enormous hole that cannot be fixed. It's time to replace it and wanted y'alls opinion on which direction to take. OEM is crazy expensive so I'm looking at aftermarket but my biggest concern is noise level. My Tundra has dual flowmasters, it's obnoxious but sounds good IMO. I am looking for a good exhaust with a good tone but overall not super loud. What do you recommend? Would love links too!

Maybe you’ll get lucky and find someone with a stock take off they’ll trade for a ham sandwich.

Wicked Flows WF-SS212. If you have cats, you shouldn't need a resonator. Any reputable muffler shop should be able to bend and weld it up for you. Not sure what the going rates are in your neck of the woods, but I wouldn't think it would be more than 100$ installed.

We certainly don't have a muffler shop or even a fab shop but I have my own garage to install it myself if it's a bolt on application.

We had a good muffler shop in Nashville, Illinois. I had him do some work from time to time and he did a great job and was reasonable. I even had him weld on my sliders and he did a fantastic job.
I know that doesn't help you but if you didn't live in BFE....

A budget alternative to OEM is Walker Quiet-Flow SS exhaust. It says it's stainless steel, but it's low grade. But it sounds quiet, OEM like, and does the job.

Second the Walker Quiet Flow (with attached tail pipe segment) and can get at the big auto stores and they have the mid-pipe too all fits right in. Both about $150.
You will need a new kit for the mid pipe to cats spring/bolts with a donut gasket. I sprayed the entire system with black Rustoleum high heat so has held up for last 3 years so far but lifetime warranty.
Several other brands are similar if Walker out of stock.

I bought my truck in October of last year from one of the best rated local dealerships. One of the things they needed to replace was the muffler. They were unable to source an OEM muffler so outfitted me with a walker muffler instead. Looks and sounds fine, seems like a quality product to me.

Walker is OEM Muffler on lots of vehicles. know when i was with Honda back in the day Walker and Sanki were stamped into every muffler somewhere. think Subaru is also Walker, as for the tacoma ive no idea never pulled my exhaust off.

Walker products don't last long in the rust belt. At least the stuff from the parts stores

True. When we lived in southern Illinois, we SAW five tornados in the 11 years we lived there. One actually did some damage to our house. I'll still take salt free (for the most part) roads!

worked with a tech who was from CT, i remember the first time he saw a pre 2000 subaru come in i saw him digging out so much stuff to work on the car like an induction tool for bolts, and breaker bars and soon as he saw no salt he said this is why there are so many old cars here.. cracked me up

It's incredible, when I was in highschool I was in the auto-tech program, half of the time was spent with breaker bars and gallons of PB Blaster fluid. My poor 2007 is starting to rust in the cab corners too.
