Hey guys I'm currently on a moab trip and will start doing some offroading starting tomorrow and wanted some advice before getting started.

I REALLY want to do hell revenge and hells gate.

    I have a 2012 dclb trd sport
-Open front and rear difs with stock gearing
-Extended travel kings front and rear with heavy duty dakar leaf packs
    -35x12.5r17 kenda klever rts
    -dirt king uca
    -decked bed drawers
    And a flippac

I've seen videos of a 2nd gen dclb tacoma making it up hells gate. My main concern is this flippac but im also a novice so any and all advice would be appreciated.

Are you going alone? If you’re a novice, even in the most capable vehicle (and open diffs aren’t) go with someone with experience.

Hells gate is not something to do without a spotter who you trust, and knows the line. The line on that obstacle is not super obvious for a novice.

Also I assume with 35s you have a lot of trimming and probably extended bump stops? That trail I have done many many times and it will work the truck pretty good.

Yea just me and my girlfriend for this one. I have done the entire WABDR trail but I hardly think that's gunna help me here at moab. Sounds like the plan will be todo some easier trails like fins and things for the first few days and potentially try and be friend some more experience drives to spot me on hells gate for the last day of the trip.

I have stock bump stops in the front and aftermarket ones in the rear.

Thank you all for the reply and advice I appreciate it alot <3

Hell's Gate has been done on completely stock vehicles. But you put a novice driver on it, and even with 40s and tons and no spotter, you might die.

I would avoid that trail and stick to something like Fins N Things. It's still no joke, but can be done with more novice driving skills. Even then, I still wouldn't go alone...

Just skip it until you cane come back with a more experienced group with good spotters.

Seems Facebook is where all the group action is nowadays.

    The regional forums here.

People post group rides all the time.

Honestly, most facebook groups I've seen are shit shows. FB (esp the Marketplace) is kind of a cesspool.

Probably a little late but don't stress about Hell's Revenge, and Hell's gate people make out to be a big deal which I do not understand, went up it without a spotter than realized I forgot to hit record on the drone so went back down it and back up it again... with a tacoma wheel base its pretty much a joke...
