I even had a 4cyl auto that was even more depressing. It got 19 mpg on the highway and was a standard cab with 4.56 gears to bring some life back.

On the 03 the 4wd light is a bulb that can be changed in the dash. To test 4hi just put it in gear and turn sharp on pavement and you will know. On the grinding, if you were trying to shift wile in the wrong gear it will do that If you are in P or N so try it both ways. Also try putting a different name on the tittle of your thread and post in first gen. Look what kind of response you will get then. First gen guys do not seem to care of second gens. I posed my possible trade in both. The first gen said keep it and so on for the second gen. It seems the same all away around the people on hear love their toyotas no mater what gen. After all that is why we are hear right. LOL!

There was major flooding from the hurricane... Houston (5th largest city in the U.S.) and surrounding area, putting tens of thousands of vehicles under water. I would be extremely careful for a long time buying a vehicle in affected areas. Sad truth.

And... 3.4L is a great engine, but it does have a timing belt. 4.0L has a timing chain.

That uh drive shaft you got there Op. Yah that is your exhaust connection to the Y pipe. You can buy a gasket to put in there to stop that slight exhaust leak, the clear liquid was literally just water from exhaust condensation build up and it escaping. Its not a huge deal and cheap fix for a small gasket.
