I need electrical help.

I have already cleaned my terminals and my posts on my battery, and I've checked all the grounds on the battery, I'm looking for other grounds now to check.

 

Take your test light from battery ground to the body, frame, and block when your power is lost and see if it lights up, if it does your missing a ground.

 

Now my test light does not show that those fuses have any power in the on position

 

When you turn it on do you hear a pop sound?

 

You have any jumper cables?

 

My test switch has a positive and a negative clip, so I hooked it to the positive and negative terminal on the battery and when I touch the body and the frame it doesn't light up but when I touch the block it does

 

That’s a ground issue. Do you have jumper cables?

 

Yeah I just verified again it only lights up when I touch the block. Nothing else.

 

So you hooked the ground clip of the test light to the ground of the battery and it lights up whe you touch the block?

 

If you have a pair of jumper cables, clamp the black lead to the negative side of the battery and the other black lead to the engine block.

 

Sounds like a short just took out the main fuse!

Volt meter Positive lead positive battery terminal negative lead to a good engine ground the ground ECM works

You should still have your 12VDC plus .

 

There is also a ground that runs from the body next to the battery to the negative side of the battery, that wire is about 2-3 inches long from the body connection to the negative battery terminal.

 

No I did hear a click when I tried to start it once the power came back on with the key in the on position, and yes I do have jumper cables.

 

But once it made that click I lost all power, and now I can't get power back at all

 

That’s a bad connection.

 

I see a ground to my intake manifold, my battery grounded to the subframe right next to the negative terminal, there's a ground on my firewall kind of on the passenger side, but I'm not seeing any other grounds yet I'm looking though

 

Can you determine where the pop is coming from?

 

There is a big ground that goes to the block, close to the starter.

 

The pop you are hearing is the connection being lost due to the current load. It can carry a little but when it gets excessive then it pops and you lose power.

 

These are the grounds I can see. The negative battery terminal ground I actually had to repair because about a year ago I just discovered that it had completely broken in half and it didn't seem to affect anything not having that that ground on the terminal. The second one is the ground on my intake manifold, and the third one is the ground on my firewall.
