I need help choosing a lift kit or leveling kit... I'm new

    Many vendors sell add-a-leaf kits for Tacomas. You can google them.

    In my case, I had a local spring shop add a leaf, they made in-house, to the factory pack. They cut open the Toyota pack and literally put another leaf in there. It’s been great. No more smacking the bump stops. Any good spring shop can typically do this.

    If you don’t have a spring shop in your area, the aftermarket leaf kits work great from what I understand. You will need an alignment afterwards as the squareness of the rear axle (thrust angle) can be altered when you unbolt the axle from the lead packs and bolt it back up.

    The job may or may not be something you feel comfortable doing in your driveway. It’s not hugely complicated, but there is no shame in hiring someone to do it right.
