Ok so I went to two auto shops and I want a 3 inch lift on the front of my 2011 double cab which has trd sport 17 inch wheels. I am debating of getting the leveling kit from this shop which is 550 idk the brand or buying pro comp or blistin500 as I seen here on threads. I will be keeping the stock rims for now but will increase the tire size to the biggest possible without running and having enough clearance. My question to you guys is where is the cheapest place for blistin or pro comp and what size of tire will do the clearance. Thanks in advance :) also ride quaility is a plus to me. I love my smooth riding truck

On a budget, limit your lift to 2.5" to save money on UCA's (which you will need after lifting 3" to get a good alignment)

Bilstein shocks paired with old man emu 885 coils will give a pretty good ride and 2.5" of lift.

An add-a-leaf and bilstein 5100 shocks in the rear to kinda level the truck and improve ride.

Haha I left guys, I have a buddy who says to get pro comp since he has it on his Silverado. I'm not sure since they say pro comp is not good?

From what I know about those they are decent based on how high you go. Stay away from the 6 inch procomp unless you only want to fit bigger tires.

I'd rely more on the thousands of tacoma owners on this site who have actual experience with tacoma suspension modifications.

^^^ This..... Exactly what I did. Couldn't be happier. Also did the .25 spacer on drivers side to correct for taco lean. Right at 2.5 inches. Getting alignment tomorrow so we'll see what the numbers look like.

Awesome I'm leaning to the Bilstein. Would I need the 885ome or wats the purpose. And are the Bilstein a kit or actual shocks?

I'm no expert and everything I know I learned here....... but.....

885x is the coil spring and Billstein is the shock absorber. Together they make the strut assembly. 885 spring has the proper spring weight for a double cab. there a re a number of spring options depending on what your going for.

Are you sure you've been doing your research? There's a good thread stickied in the suspension section that gives a lot of general info on what you need to know about lifts. Go read it. It will be 10 minutes well spent.

I've already read a lot of the suspension forums. The issue is choosing the components that will work for what I want to do. I already know I want coil overs and new leaf packs and ball joint upper control are.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Level kit and 3" lift are not. even. close.

    Make up your mind.

Consider how you use the truck 80% of the time, and build to that. If any building is actually needed.

If you build to the 20% use, you'll spend more money and likely be unhappy with the other 80% of the time.
