Lots of trimming, and possibly a cab mount chop, and yes with a 285 tire on a 4 cylinder you might lose a significant amount of mpg's

what is a cab mount chop?
what kind of tire would you say would make look a little more beefy and make the tire stick out alittle from the fender?

You "could" but you get what you pay for in most cases. Stick with companies you know like Toytec, Wheelers or All Pro.

Get the 5100's and set them @.85 along with the Elbach coils. You may be able to fit 285's but you will have to trim and remove your front mud flaps.for the rear go with a progressive AAL & 5100s. If I were you I would just go with a 265/75/16 tire so you wont loose too much MPG/power with your 4banger.

trimming is not hard...could be done with a pair of snips...or you can take them off if your state permits it

dude, tire size is what effects your mpgs...not wheel! Anything larger than stock (tire) will effect your mpgs...the bigger you go..the worse it gets unless you re-gear...try searching dude!

Thats what I said...wheel really has nothing to do with it...example

    265/75/16
    265/70/17
    265/65/18

all will yeild about the the mpgs...its the tire size and resistance (m/t or a/t) that will effect the mpgs

thats correct...because of the road resistance due to the more aggressive tread pattern...what size tire are you looking at?

Okay, like mentioned before trimming will be required with 285s...some things include the fenders, cab mounts and inner wheel well...its not that big of a deal. Just depends on what your comfortable with lol. Now, a 265/70/17 would look nice with a 3" lift for sure...especially the Good Year Duratracs...some 265s run a little larger than others...for example...I'm also running 265s and I have a 3 inch lift. I will be stepping up to 285s but Cortland on here has 265 Duratracs and their noticablly bigger...and the there the same size 265/75/16
