I've currently got the fabtech dirt logic coilover lift with add a leafs in the back... I want a leaf to replace the stocks and the aal and give me 3-4 inches of lift... What's my best bet.... Keep in mind this is just a temp fix to get rid of the broke drivers side leaf before the trail run in the iron range mn OHV park.... Also what can I do for a diff drop so I can turn my front up without causing damage to my cvs... I know of all pros but does anyone else have one out there? What did you guys do? Thanks

OME. Just replace the whole pack. It's the best option. Faster, no splitting leaf packs, and... its f'n new.

what year of Tacoma do you have? your profile pic shows a 95-97..which is important cause our leafs are 3'' shorter then 98-04s and your option for packs are different

That's what I'm debating now do I get the 8 leaf or the 5 leaf... Looks like I'm gonna want to do 1.5 or 2 inch aal also but should I get a 3 leaf progressive one lol or just a single aal... Or does the hd bring up your hauling cap?

the AAL i posted is made for the wheelers 5 packs. I have it and had it before. Works great, flexes awesome.

the 8 packs work great too i have a buddy with them. They hold weight well and flex well too.

    both are good.

no AAL for the 8 packs though.

Really should I shackle the 8 packs to get the desired 3-4 inch lift then. Cause they are only stating 1.5-2 inches or do I keep my factory overloads in?

Pretty sure the Alcan gets rid of the overload. I'd suggest thag you call Wheelers, tell them what you need and see what they say.

toytec has a good Diff drop.
if you are getting aftermarket leafs be prepared to get a few other things.

you want full flex? well you need 10" rear shocks. Right now i have billy 5100's in the back w/ OME leafs and wow its brutal.

    you might need axle shims
BPV bracket (BAMF has the best one IMHO)
might need a carrier bearing drop (can make this yourself..)
Probably will need a new main eye bolt (either from toyota or if you can find one that fits)
probably need new shackles (i suggest aftermarket since they are usually stronger & cheaper than toyota ones)
might need ebrake cable extenders (let me know if you need the specs on those.)

Thats all the stuff i had to do for my Dakar leafs at least.. I just know how much it sucks to find out all that information while you are in the process of installing the leafs. I ended up trying to install my leafs like 3x times lol.

installing new leafs is a whole different ball game than just an AAL. You have new coil overs in the front but do you have new shocks in the back too?

hmm well i was looking at the fabtech kits and I'm not sure if you will need new shocks or not. They always make it so hard to tell.. I mean I'm sure the shocks you have will probably work and fit. But if your leafs have more downward flex than your shocks do then going over bumps will suck.

one way to tell would be to fully flex one side and measure the shock from eyelet to eyelet. Most shocks are about 24.5" long (fully extended) which is not long enough for new leafs. With new leafs you will be looking at somewhere around 17" fully collapsed and 27" fully extended.

Also about the trail gear kits this is what my opinion is.
Just because its a kit doesn't mean everything is correct for your application. Personally from experience i would piece the kit together individually. this way you will 100% sure get the things you want the first time around.
