    Whats up fellas.

This crazy notion came over me to want to complete a road trip from Long Beach to Seattle and back in a span of 2 weeks.

    Anyone have experience doing this?

Am I crazy for wanting to be in the truck this long?

I'm thinking I could drive up the coast, do some mild trails along the way (possibly camp out), stop in Portland, maybe even take the road bike to sight see certain towns quicker (visit breweries along the way), then end in Seattle for a couple days.

Does this sound doable in 2 weeks? I plan on going end of February, through the beginning of March. Not sure what weather conditions would be like, i'm sure shitty.

If I'm crazy, snap me out of it lol.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Two weeks easily doable

I have done this trip about 13 times

When I lived in SF I would drive to Seattle to have dinner (yup am crazy) and come back to SF that weekend

I did it in mostly two seat sports cars

Doing in a truck is a luxury

I did it in my truck in march. February march means no Chinese tourists and no British Colombian motor homes

    Stopped in Hearst castle
    Stayed a night in Monterey
    Pt Reyes
    Stayed in redwood (petrolia too)
    Stayed in Ashland
    Then Portland
    Then Seattle

I have done the trip on my Ducati once. After 13 hours straight riding got tired

    Good luck

2 weeks? You could drive to NY and back in 2 weeks. I've done it several times. I love road trips, there are plenty of places to wheel, site see, visit, etc. I highly recommend taking the PCH the whole way there or back. I would do it on the way which would give you options for the return trip to wheel say on the east side of the Sierras.
    Good luck.

Hells yeah, do it. We're going from Seattle to Burbank next week, 2 days, 10 hours each. If I was you I'd go up the entire oregon Coast, through Astoria, then follow 30 into Portland. I-5 from there to Seattle.

DO IT!! I would also recommend hearst castle. Also, further up the coast you should check out Trinidad beach. Just north of the public beach area are some trails that take you to the top of a cliff overlooking the whole area. It's really cool.

I've done a mod or two
I've done this trip in a day multiple times, so 2 weeks might be really slow but it's a nice drive. Up the coast is my favorite way.

Do you need to know, or care?
I've done this route many times from Vancouver, 2 years ago was the latest. Took my time with stops all along the Oregon coast, Redwood Forest, San Fran, Monterey, Big Sur, etc.

In LA day 4 of the trip. 2 weeks is a piece of cake.

Most likely it's going to be wet. Bring rain gear.

    I don't have a motorhome. :p

Ps if you see zebras on the side of the road you're getting close to Hearst castle.

Thanks for the great feedback. I feel better about committing to this. Glad I won't feel rushed within a 2 week span. I'd like to enjoy a couple days at each destination which sounds feasible.

Pretty pumped, time to start planning. Now debating whether to make this a solo trip or recruit some co-pilots.

I have done solo 9,000 mile road trips and many co pilot trip (sub 3,000 mile)

However I am always driver, no on else drives my stuff

That said, whether you have a partner or not depends on their level of attractiveness

The Olympic Peninsula is a great drive, Olympic National Park, Hoh rain forest, Ruby Beach, La Push, Lake Quinault Lodge, etc.

I recomend the app, Roadtrippers. You can place a start and end route and see various POi on the way, map out diners etc. side trips just off the path etc.

Gonna get flamed for this, but I recommend no app. Trip like that can be full of surprises, pleasant ones, and a few clunkers is all part of the adventure. He's got plenty of time.

Agreed, but "old school" is sadly going out of fashion. Funnest trip I ever did was tent camp all the way down Baja, didn't know a fckng thing beforehand, where to eat, gas up, groceries, nada. Twas a blast and I'll never forget it.

and btw, for our Seattle to Burbank trip I actually ordered a AAA TripTik, some little old lady put it together for me. Not that I even need it because I know exactly where I'm going, done it a million times, but I just wanted to have it since I'm a member. It's great to have all the paper maps with handwritten notations on them from her. My parents used to get those all the time, every trip.

Not crazy at all. I'm planning of driving from Orange County to Oregon with many stops along the way. Maybe even see if we can get into Canada since we're already that far.
