I need some advise on a 2009 Toyota Tacoma.

Hi. This is my first post on Tacoma World. I was wondering if you can give me some sound advise on a used Tacoma. I found a clean 2009 Totota Tacoma TRD Sport double cab. Longbed V6 automatic 5 speed. Mileage: 135,799. Asking price is $17,995. Is this to many miles for this truck and what should I expect to replace soon? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Check and compare prices online (ebay, craigslist, etc). If you can see it in person check the oil, transmission fluid, look at the under carriage to see if it was badly abused off road. And definitely take it for a drive. Feel the brakes, listen for weird sounds, hows it shift. Once your satisfied with it complain about all the small things that bug you and then throw out the low ball offer of $10,000!!

Has it ever been in an accident? As far as the mileage the truck is fine if the owner just used it as a daily drive and not a hardcore off road vehicle. You will get many more miles out of that vehicle.

yeah that sounds about right for an 09 prerunner here in so cal. I spent 3 months looking for a good tacoma and almost spent 13k out the door on an 02 4x4 v6 auto... then started looking at the couple year old 2nd gens... and went wait... for a couple grand more i can get a new one hmm.

I went to a dealer to look at a used one and it was maybe 3k more for a new one.... at that point i said fuck that im getting a brand new one.
