I have a leer. Like I tell everyone I know who gets one, check for leaks. Mine had a waterfall because the 3rd brake light hole was cut wrong and the light didnt seal. Also, make sure the dealer installs GOOD seals between the bed and cap.

Go with Leer or ARE. SnugTop was a big hassle for me, had to replace 2 leaking windows on brand new shell.

I hope Snugtop is not as bad as you say, I'm scheduled to pick mine up tomorrow after long wait of ordering. I liked the look of the Snugtop fit from all the tops so I'm hopping quality is as described

The Snugtop look is great and fiberglass is strong. The rear window is solid, and hardware is good. The locking mechanisim is good.
The left/right and front slider windows are cheap crap.

I ordered mine in July. Delivered in September. It's almost January and I'm still waiting on my second replacement window.
Paying a premium price over the competitors - IMO all parts should be high quality.
They must import the windows because they are the fabricated poorly and have cheap hardware.

When I called Snugtop to discuss the issue (and I was polite), the rep didn't seem to care one bit.

see my window photos in this post.

Sorry to hear all the problems you're having, hopefully I won't have any problems. I got one with fiberglass side doors so it might not have the same issue

it has been a big bummer, but lesson learned.

When you get your shell, make sure they double the tape along the front of the bed (the rail is a bit lower than the sides). I also added silicon caulk to the front bed corners where the topper rests.
Spray it liberally with hose water, check for window leaks or you find out the hard way like me.
Snugtop will only ship new windows by ground on their product delivery trucks, so it takes a long time to get a replacement.

If you're shell is still a pretty new purcjase I'd put a stop on my credit card payment and tell them they need to fix it asap and or you will return it. I know it's easier to talk when you are not in the situation but when you involve the credit card company and stop or withdraw payment they will be quick to fix the problem and take care or you

Edit: I prepaid $2,995 for my shell with side tool boxes after a supposed $500 discount to close the deal. I waited now about 3.5 weeks since the promise date for them to fix a few goof ups! They put Chevy key cylinders (factory key learning) in stead of Toyota and forgot to include both tool boxes so it came with one. The shell dealer had to get the parts shipped from snugtop, I was super excited when I first saw the shell but not to happy when they tried the keys to find out they were the wrong ones

i thought about contacting the CC company and stopping payment and considered it, but I needed to move forward b/c I may be moving soon so i really don't have the time to wait on a new shell. Also I really need a shell right now for work stuff.
