ya, and you could spray it down with vegetable oil if you want but it drips and washes off faster WoolWax is closer to a grease. To be honest spraying heated up grease mixed with some bar and chain oil would probbaly work much better than WoolWax but i haven't tried it yet.

Well, around here he has become a pussy cat....we’ve had the warmest month of December since we can remember.
The problem is, while this WAX BASED stuff maybe good for frames, it’s terrible for inner buddy panels where drain holes can get easily clogged. Motor oil flows easily and clings tenaciously. Like it’s meant to with in an engine. I tried gear oil...it was excellent. But it stunk and I had to redo my wife’s car with motor oil...or she threatened to divorce me. Can’t have that, she’s a keeper. The only reason she stays with me is, her cars never rust....NEVER.

Biodegradable motor oil... I did not know that existed.

Ok, maybe need to get the gun with a harbor freight compressor. Watching some of the pro videos, they use the 360 sprayer nozzle inside the holes first, then put on a flat spray nozzle for coating everything.

I do inside of the rockers with bar and chain oil for the drain reason mentioned above. I also do the inside of the frame with bar and chain oil because it seems to spray a little better out of the long 32" 360* wand. If you buy the wool wax gun it does not come with the 32" long wand this is the reason i would buy the fluid film gun it should come with the longer wand.

I bought the wool wax gun and it came with a much shorter 360" wand because wool wax is thicker and does not like to spray out of the longer wand so they do not include it with their gun. Fluid film guns does come with the longer 360* wand because fluid film sprays easier because it is not as sticky and it dont spit as much as wool wax when leaving the wand.

The short straight wand is nice for doing areas you cant get into with the gun because of clearance issues. But the gun sprays much better without a wand attached it fans the product out and covers much better using the gun only. So do as much as you can with no wand the job will go much faster.

how do you do the inside of rockers? i don't even know how the heck water would ever get inside to drain out!
my truck still has the square rubbery covers on it last time i was under inspecting the work needed to be done
maybe they are glued on there or something, i really don't know

I dont think first gen tacos have as much of a problem with rocker/cab corner rot out as other trucks. But one of the most common area for body rot is rockers so i drilled 3/4" holes in my rocker to run a 32" wand all the way to the end. I coat the insides so if salt spray does get up in the rocker it cant start rusting from the inside out. There are a series of drain holes in the bottom of the rocker pinch seam to let water out. If i remember right the front gutter drains for third gen 4runner sun roof routs rain water into the rockers. I dont know if extended cab tacos had a sun roof or not but they are probably routed into the rocker too.

I used a 3/4" hole saw and it was double wall where i drilled in the pic. After drilling the holes i used a small rat tail file and knocked the sharp edge off the holes so it didn't shave plastic off the wand as i pushed and pulled it through. Then get some 3/4" body plugs to stick in the holes to make it look clean and keep dirt from getting in. I filled my rockers up more than i released and it dripped for days it has stopped now though but you can see the marks it left on my driveway.

that little seam/weld spot about a foot back from your mod is where i found a piece of bubbly paint and the beginnings of a nightmare earlier this year, chemicals must've seeped through the body paint somehow, i try to keep my door jam areas clean of roadspray but probably was careless at some point in the past. i just sprayed over the seams with CF 3000 gel this year and see how it holds magnetically

i have seen salvaged 1st gen tacos at the local lots with trashed rockers so it can and does happen
might be a couple of TW pics i have seen somewhere on here trying to deal with it

    Sorry, what's a rocker?

What do you guys use for a compressor? I really don't want to go nuts with one since I only need it for this application. Woolwax site says min 3gall with like 60-90psi capability. What about this: -Although that one says spray painting not recommended...

the specs for that compressor.... you probably need to check the woolwax sprayer SCFM recommendations for compatibility

I run my gun off a 25 gallon oil-less air compressor and it cycles on quite a bit with the regulator set at 75-80psi when im spraying. I would not want to go any smaller than 25 gallon.
