    Honestly if you really want a 1st gen. again, I would buy a cheapo (~$5k) and restore it, by reinforcing or buying a new frame (another $5k? excluding labor costs) and renew or replace any other parts if broken. But those are the prices on my pretty south Texas, not sure of CA. We rarely see any rust down here too.
