I have a brand new power supply tester from Coolmax. Its a PS-228. I tested a few power supplies and they all said 'LL' on the +12V2. Looked at the instructions and they said it means 'low power'. I then tested it on a brand new power supply that i just took out of the box and it said the same thing. I asked the dude at frys and he said Coolmax stuff sucks SO what do you guys use to test your power supplies? Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    1. Take advice from Frys with a grain of salt. My friend worked there, most employees don't know a whole lot about the products they are selling, but act like they do.

    2. I have an Antec tester and it seems to do a good job. Looks like Antec has a newer unit now, I'd try that.

I have a cheapo power supply tester I got from compusa back when they were around and it works fine.

Never tried an Antec tester but I won't buy an Antec power supply again. I've had three blow out. Literally. One was brand new out of the box within 5 minutes a loud pop and smoke came out of the psu. Thank God it didn't send a surge to the rest of the brand new components I had just installed in the case.

Interesting, I've had nothing but quality from Antec. Sometimes not the most innovative, but they've always been solid for me.
