I Need to find a Cab for my 2015 Taco TRD

A friend of mine modified my truck by falling asleep and crashing it down a very steep hill into a tree. Since I wasn't carrying full coverage at the time my poor Taco is sitting around waiting for me to find him a new cab. Engine and Frame are fine. Body isn't.
I'm an idiot!!! I took off the full coverage on my 2015 Tacoma TRD 4 wheel drive a couple of years ago due to financial problems. I've had no problems with doing this until I loaned my truck to a friend. Friend fell asleep while driving and took my beloved taco off a cliff. Due to the reliability and construction of my truck the mechanics and the frame are fine and ready to roll. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the chassis. Does anybody know of a 2005 - 2015 Tacoma body that could replace mine, and that somebody would be willing to part with?? I really need my truck.

Sounds like you'll be looking for a cab and a bed, from most likely two separately wrecked trucks.

I am oddly reminded of one of those Tacoma commercials.

I remember that commercial as well.

OP I hope you get everything sorted out. As @Torspd said, sounds like your best bet is to find two separate trucks. One that has a good bed, and one that has a good cab. Maybe the friend could help financially since they caused the incident? Would the friends insurance cover it? Not sure how that works and may vary from state to state.

Actually, I could use the cab and I could fix the bed. And friend is giving me money each month but its a very very small amount of money.

Best of luck. Stories like this remind me that although I'm annoyed full coverage is expensive, it'll cover my ass

@jberry813 can you edit the title please as the Title "Help" should really be used for actually emergency situations. OP no disrespect to you but it's not like your stuck out in the woods or a ditch some place.

Shit happens, ive been completely sober and dozed off at the wheel, but thankfully i didnt end up in an accident..

Moral of the story here is to not let anyone else drive your truck, that way if it does get wrecked, its on you, or covered by the person who hit you

A good place to look for a wrecked taco would be local pick and pulls near you, or craigslist is another good option. hope you get your truck roadworthy again OP.. good luck!

Very! Ive done it twice. The first time i crossed the yellow line coming over a hill and hit headlight to headlight with the cruise on 75. I almost died. The second time i ran off in a ditch and just got airbag burns. Both times i was in a very irresponsible time in my life about 15 years ago.

Crossing the yellow line.. see it more and more every year. Really pisses me off but what can you do expect avoid as best you can.
Glad you didn’t die @Mitch76 and equally glad you seem to have learned something. 15 years ago, might you have been in your mid twenties or younger? Current neuro science shows the brain is not fully developed until the mid-twenties...
