Speaking of doge, I went for a safer play (lol) and threw all my gains at GME this morning which yall already knew I’d do. I was thinking blue chips to diversify but where’s the fun in that. Pretty, prettty, pretty good. Also ew politics

That would be overtly and explicitly political by advocating for or against specific laws championed by specific politicians, not just describing the objective economic effects of certain policies regardless of who is for/against them.

    It's worse by every measure.

Well the way I see it, is 1 doge = $1 is the absolute top. that's why I sold all my doge to buy GME back when GME was only $40. I saw more potential gains from GME than doge.

I'm not sure, but those are facts I got from Coindesk's website https://www.coindesk.com/buying-dogecoin-420

I thought I read it somewhere but now I can't seem to find it. Maybe the source I read it from was wrong.

    Well
Considering the potential money being spent here
Was profits taken from doge at .40 cents

it’s free money in either direction

    edit

I only had 200$ base in doge at .052 cents
And basically swung traded it until my 200$ was back out and also around 400$ in new stocks and 600$ to either spend back into doge
    Or spend elsewhere.

currently only 500$ remain outside of doge remaining limit buys.

but I’m at 48 shares of CCIV and 2300 of doge

so the 500$ would be spent at .13 cents for doge
    And 17.76 for CCIV

I'd say if CCIV hits what you think is a great entry point, send it. If not, keep it in the doge limit order until then.

Free money with a stupid high capital gains tax. Lets face it capital gains tax has been very high for very long even a 6% increase is moot IMO at this point. Can we please drop the political shit and get back to poop olympics, air fryers, houses we can’t afford, and hedgie conspiracies. Lol

What if this was a way for the govt who knows what’s coming to capitalize for the impending 10mill/share payout to apes nationwide? :tinfoilhat:

well as it stands I haven’t taken any actual profits
All sells on stock/crypto have been immediately reinvested or left for investment. I figure if I don’t take any profits unless moon I can stay on the safe side of any tax related cost

If you sold one crypto for another you owe tax on that sale.

    Understood
More so meaning that I haven’t pulled any money and stopped it’s potential growth
So the ability to pay back the taxes stays at a safer ratio

    or rather
I haven’t used the funds to pay debt and have left it invested

The moment you sell any stock or crypto you owe taxes on it. Doesn't matter what you do with it after. If you take losses you can factor that in as well (though I'm not very clear on how yet). TLDR I need an accountant lol

If I take the profit and re invest
    It grows (in theory)
So my ability to pay taxes on it does too

    if I take it out
    And pay for goods/services/debt
That money is now non existent to me and so any taxes due for the gain of that money is now more of a liability

I get that taxes are due regardless

0 available to borrow (from Iborrow looks as though they went from 500k>0 during AH) and looks like they hit the ETF's overnight. Hmmmmm. Someone a little scared? Kenny?

Fosho. I hope it grows for ya, but I would always make sure that if it tanks you have some set aside to cover them too.

Decided to take the 500$ And put it at 5 shares of Riot and 15 shares of CCIV

at least in there I won’t be tempted to do any more swing trading

Stupid high? 20% max long or your regular tax rate short? That’s high? If you make 150k and you hold for long term gains you save 9% on thousands of gains. Make 100 million you hold for long term gains you save 17%, on millions. Seems to have been pretty reasonable
