I’ve only had my Taco for 8 months, but we’ve had our 2008 Scion XD for 14 years and 166,00 miles. Our experience with the Scion , after trying just about every after-market blade, is like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz - “there’s no place like home” and there’s no better than OEM. In other words, Don’t mess with the gods of Toyota!

Replacing just the OEM inserts is a cost- effective way to maintain good visibility. Just be methodical and patient- it literally takes 5 minutes.

Which is why I said use a microfiber after the wash - with degreasers and soap. I am NOT debating it. You are.

You do you man, like I already said. I'm just pointing out that alcohol deteriorates rubber is all. It's not contradicting, lol. It's "science". I agree most people don't clean them, we are on the same page overall. I have turned the rubber around on blades multiple times before replacing them. They just don't hold up well in my area so I give em a year and replace them. $30 for some blades isn't going to break my bank.
