Search for a whole axle assembly (there are a ton) and call the yards that pop up and see what they want just for the third member.

You are going to have a hard time finding somebody with a drop in third on here. Places that sell assembled thirds require a core and guys that swapped R&P’s will just have the bare gears left. You’ll still have to pony up to have them installed well enough to drive on for a whole. ECGS is $650 for an assembled third too, get it in 5.29 or 4.88 and sell after if you don’t want it

Call up ECGS, they should have plenty of factory gear sets laying around.

    I just wanted the gears
    Not the whole third member
Yes I have talked to ECGS earlier today.
Guy said they have roughly a 4-5 week lead at the moment

Assembling the third doesn't bother me, I have friends who know how to do gears :)

I'm confused, your truck out of warranty period? Does driveline warranty cover this from factory? If not, what cause your to become out of warranty?

Truck has 25k on the ODO
They cancelled my warranty saying I have taken the truck outside of normal operating conditions by putting aftermarket shocks/wheels/tires on it
And yes driveline warranty would have covered it including the fact that there is a recall relating directly to the 3rd member failures

I understand you gotta get your truck fixed and you are obviously trying... But if you let this guy keep your $1100, you are insane. I don’t care if he is “Stormin Norman” or Rambo you don’t ever let someone take your hard earned money.

I am a vet myself and this really upsets me that anyone took your money regardless of their background story. Doesn’t matter if they were in Nam or not. Half of the money your are going to end up spending to get their truck there is in some POS’s hands. I for one say you can’t just avoid that if of a chunk of money.

I would call all the junkyards and vendors you can call and see if someone is willing to help as well as on the forum like you have already attempted. Eventually someone will help if they have the parts and you get your story across.

I am still pursing the individual to try and get my money back
And I have called every junk yard, parts place, pull a part in a 500 mile radius and have had no luck.

I've had people in Texas, California and North Carolina all looking for me as well and so far they are turning up empty handed

And all parts from Toyota directly are on national backorder due to the recall :) surprise surprise LOL.

I am not letting this guy get away with taking my money I'm just not sending a witch hunt out for him haha

This is all been a difficult and complex situation

Even getting currie to build a rear end for the truck the way it needs to be done has been complex

Did you enquire about renting a diesel from say Enterprise and tow the truck out to Cali. I have rented from one state and drove to another and the expense was not bad.

Maybe a silly question but can you remove the rear drive shaft and drive in 4wd and just use the front wheels to drive ??
    Edit . OOPS I did not realize it was a 2wd ?

    At least locally
Our enterprise don't have large trucks like that

Mostly cause redneck shit heads would trash them. And we have had the conversation above about all the other companies in that group

    For emergencies yes
But it is highly not recommended for on road use and especially not in that level of time/distance

What about all of these totaled trucks on here lately that are 3rd gens? I know one was in Arkansas and was a 3rd Gen Pro, maybe start asking those owners who’ve been totaled lately what yards their trucks got towed to?

That is a good idea and I have been looking to that degree
But again Toyota kinda screwed owners here because the diffs are not universal between all models
So I specifically have to find a trd sport 4x4 auto. Offroad and pro model have different diffs

    I am not 100% sure
But I do know there is an additional detail between all the gens of it being an auto trans or a manual
And it having LSD and or ECT

Have you spoke to any other companies that fab rear ends? Would it be possible to ship your rear axle to them for mock up on the new axle? You just need spring plates, shock tabs, etc? Hell if you shipped me your rear end and a currie rear end I could easily put the extra items on without even needing the truck. Unless you have other work planned for the truck that might be an option, just trying to throw out ideas. On Camburgs rear end builder page you have the option to add tabe for 4 link, I would think if they can pre tab a 4 link they can pre tab shock mounts and spring plates
