Hey there Tacoma fans. I picked up a grey 14 2nd gen TRD sport with 6MT roughly a year ago. Had 82k on it and now over 100k. Had always wanted one but was thrown off by the prices. Finally pulled the trigger when I saw this one listed and my dad told me "son I would have never paid that". I realized the prices were likely not going to ease up and figured at least the value was less likely to drop over ownership vs other vehicles. Hard to find a MT these days anyway with these options.

All in all just like my user name, I didn't know if I would like it at first driving it for the 1st week or so, but now I get why these trucks have such a dedicated following. These trucks are brilliant. My dad now brags when he rides with me offroad or on road how solid the truck feels and how good it rides. I've had in the past what were considered true drivers' cars and feel like this truck is very much engaging and akin to what could be regarded as an enthusiast truck. Function gives it its form and it straddles the line of being old school but with just enough modern touches to make it not feel too dated. I don't ever walk up to it, get in, and crank it up thinking "man I wish I had something else"....Awesome trucks...

    Welcome to TW.

If you want it to stay feeling "solid", keep the frame coated with a CRC.
I don't care where you live. If it rains where you live, you need to keep the frame coated.

Good call bud! 2.5 gen is arguably the best generation to own. Especially in a manual. Welcome to TW. Hide your wallet.

    Gonna need to upgrade suspension

If I were to do any upgrades it would be a rear ARB locker and a 2.5 inch suspension lift. Those two options alone will likely come to $5000 or more depending on how gucci a guy wants to go with his coilovers. I would have to imagine the suspension will need work anyway in the next 50k miles. This inflation and economy is unrelenting. I'm finding myself becoming much more of a DIY mechanic these days just because I cant afford to pay for labor and shop costs...Wooden wagon wheels will be utilized eventually for many given the mad max/wasteland trajectory we are on...
