I only had ONE request!

After hours of research around here and whatnot, I settled with a SLYBRACKET licence plate mount for the 2015 Trd Sport the arrives shortly when I return from work in northern Manitoba to BC

Very excited about maintaing a clean bumper, free of nasty holes and the damage caused by a plate mounted directly to it.

So I emailed my salesman and his sales manager as well expressing that they could kindly hold off from mounting my new license as I have an alternative only to receive an email stating "Toyota has already drilled the holes, sorry"

I find it hard to imagine they do that from the factory - either way , It's not the mistake it's how you fix it.

So trying to escape a couple hundred dollar repair job, I figured these small rubber grommets may just do the trick and blend in with the metallic grey paint.

Thoughts anyone? Perhaps I'm too anal/OCD

The salesmanager/salesman are feeding you a line of shit, like Peerunner said, toyota doesn't install the plateframes, the dealer does.
I'd go talk to the GM at the dealer, tell him you want a new bumper cover!

 

Dealers will typically drill them during the PDI of the vehicle. Chances are it was done before you even made a deal on the truck.

I noticed you're in BC, so you've most likely just bought from Jim Pattison.... horrible rep for helping existing customers... i wish he didn't own every toyota dealer in BC.... TALK ABOUT MONOPOLY.

It is a big deal. I would insist that they get me an unmolested bumper immediately.

I just think it's pretty hacky to drill into fresh paint - A complete afterthought.

I get it that you wish it wasn't drilled , but I guess it wouldn't bother me especially when it was behind the front plate

The frame rust issues and lack of heated mirrors piss me off more

Equally as prissy as hating to have a new bumper drilled or having scratches/blemishes

Heated mirrors are 100% useless to me. I jus clean the snow and ice off by hand. No need to waste power running an auxiliary unit to do it for me

At some point you will realize the brand new truck you bought is just a "starter's kit". The stock plastic bumper shell is usually the first to go
