Sounds like you got yourself a real forever truck. That is a nice way to go out on top.

You have to treat car and credit card debt like what it is; a cancer on your financial health. Attack it with every extra dollar you can find! Good luck.

Many congrats to you! Big achievement in paying the thing off. I've got a year left on my '21 and with every payment think about just being done with those payments.

We are lucky we have ours now; who knows what new trucks will cost starting, well, today.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.

Don't be so negative! It'll at least take a little bit of time until everything implodes ! Lol

My payments were in the low 300's. Payoff was like 450.
    I never do more than a 48 month ( 4 year ) loan.
My down payment was $20,000+ something or other.

My original plan was to pay it off in 2 years then some issues happened so I put
it off to 3 years, then more issues happened and I had to ride it out longer.

Oh no, I'm sure everything including old stock on the lot will see a jump in price... a big jump.
I read yesterday to expect some models to jump as much as $12,000.
Mark my words everything regardless of if is affected will jump in price.
Better stock up on Toilet Paper too - even tho it's made here people will stock up.

I suppose my paid-off 2021 with less than 24,000 miles will soon be worth more than I paid for it.

OP - your next move should be to continue to pay that car payment to yourself! Every month you should put that monthly payment into a savings account and in 4 or 5 years you will have a healthy amount saved for your next car purchase. And if you think paying off a car loan feels good, try walking into a dealer and putting cash on the barrel for your next ride!

The theory is sound and if I were younger I'd do it but I won't be around long enough.

If anyone does this, do NOT whip out a wad of cash until the very end as dealers hate dealing with it
and know they are about to lose money on interest. Cash is no longer a leverage tool at the dealers, in
fact if you tell them up front they'll most likely see you as rich and will try to tack on more money for themselves.

This truck will be the last 'new' vehicle I'll ever own. I'll rat-hole some of it to assist my daughter in the next year or two.
She has a beater that still runs well but deserves a nicer ride. The wild-card here is the economy, I fear it's going to be
a roller coaster and if they do away with my retirement I'll be in bad shape, like tens of millions of other older people.
