today i had time to tinker after making my introduction and i decided id try to clean they years of grime off my wheels.... after scrubbing with soap and water for 25 minutes on 8 square inches i decided to youtube some faster techniques and chemicals i decided that i would try oven cleaner from the dollar store and while it worked great it also took the clear off the wheels so i had some plastidip left over from previous wheels and decided to coat them and see what it looked like. here is the result i think im gonna try and accent them with red maybe in the emblem of the centercap and the parts of the wheel that are hardest to mask2015-10-15 16.21.31.jpg 2015-10-15 17.09.08.jpg

hmmmmmmm not bad. but why not just use a flat black rim paint? or a metal prepping cleaner with acid in it to provide a better substrate for primer/paint?

i guess i was trying to mix cheap and being lazy and not wanting to go to the parts store and specifically pick a certain wheel wash that i wasnt sure would work any better than the oven cleaner.....i do remember using oven cleaner before but it didnt strip the clear. i will not be doin that again ill just bite the bullet and spend the money on the other wheels

plasti-dip holds up well if you do the prep and coat right. I had to use Goo-Gone to get it out of the pitting when I removed it

what worries me is the 2nd pic and how far back your tire/axle is in relation to the wheel-well
