When you had to go outside and turn the TV antenna while your dad yelled from the inside, "Turn just a little more...a little more....wait turn it back...turn...turn...stop...okay come back inside.

We could only pick up two stations, well three if you counted PBS on UHF.

I also remembered my Grandmother not having running water. She kept two five gallon buckets inside the door with a dipper hanging on a nail on the wall that everyone used. I used to help her draw water from the well, not only for the drinking buckets but for the washing machine on the back porch.

It had two rollors that you put the clothes through to wring the water from them. You had to be careful your fingers didn't get caught.

She also kept a pot under the bed to use if you didn't want to run outside in the dark to the outhouse. I always made sure I had my business done by dark so I didn't have to do either.

Speaking of outhouses, I also got to help a couple of times in digging a new hole, moving the outhouse, and filling up the old hole. That wasn't much fun at all.

    OK I'll bite-
    -a brand-new 1967 Buick Electra 225 fully loaded cost my dad $4700.
    -That Buick weighed 5100 lbs and had a 365hp 430ci V8. Gas was .29 a gallon.
-A pack of Hostess Twinkees was .19 each-and TWICE as big as they are now.
-Dad made $140 a week which afforded him that Buick, a 4 bed house with in-ground pool on 2 acres, and a nice existence for mom, sis and me too, and private school!

    I want to re-live 1967!!

I remember visiting my grandparents up in Canada (I was probably about 6 years old). She had the roller wringer and she used it regularly. I can't remember what she washed the clothes in, but it was some really old washing machine. The clothes line out the back window was classic...on a pulley system. I thought that was cool!

And Uncle of mine lived and worked on his old farm. They were even further back in time. They also had a well with no running water in the house. Bed pans & such....Oh I hated visiting there. Everything they ate was off the farm. I remember going to the chicken house and gathering eggs. Milking the cows by hand....making cream & butter. OH my gawd, that was a long time ago.

I remember Beta tapes.... I think my dad still has a beta deck.

Atari was KING!! We still have one!! It was my husbands.... I wonder if you could even try to hook it up anymore?

    Commodore 64
I remember typing pages & pages of code that were published in the computer magazines.... code for some cheesy game.

I remember my dad being soooo tight back then, we drank powdered milk.

I remember the entire neighborhood kids getting together at night (like 20 of us). We'd play hide-and-go-seek through the entire neighborhood. That was fun!!

For only being 28, I did some old school stuff.

    Grandma's TV had a dial
We had to upgrade our black and white TV to a TV with a 10-key pad so I could watch Sesame Street in color. go Zenith!
all the TVs I knew had to 'warm up' so the pictures would be the right color
I busted my dad's 8-track player in his car
    I couldn't afford an Atari
    Our refrigerator was green
I wore converse all-stars when it wasn't the cool shoe to wear
I drank Pepsi out of glass bottles
my first computer was an Apple IIe with 4KB of amazing RAM. I remember having to flip the disk over to continue playing my game.
My school had Texas Instruments computers where the programs were on cartridges.
Gas was $0.89 when I started driving
The local McDonald's hadn't forgotten Mayor McCheese

I still listen at a speed of 45rpm every now and then.

You old people don't scare me... except for cakmakli :)

The first vcr we had... paid like $950 for it (we were in Alaska at the time so it was a little more expensive) It had a remote on a leash and all it did was "pause". It didn't even turn off, time "out". If you set the timer to record something and hadn't un-paused it, nothing got recorded.

Black and white console tv's - with 4 channels. Cars before seat belts. Being able to play outside as long as you wanted - no curfew or having to stay in shouting distance. McDonalds signs saying "thousands" sold.

Watching the first moon walk live

No disposable diapers, no portable car seats,

    Yup, the good old days.

But back then we had to walk to school, through a snow storm, barefoot, uphill...both ways.

Yeah, when you could leave your doors unlocked and windows open. If you were robbed, you didn't need to worry about getting killed.
