Yep. I use my big electric impact to bang off the lug nuts, then my weak electric impact to drive them on, then torque with a big torque wrench.

The lug nut isn't swollen, it's ruined. And probably a few others are too. Check with a 21mm socket. if it doesn't fit, the nut is trash. The lug nut consists of a regular nut with a thin stainless steel shell over it to make it look like a lug nut. The shell eventually gets distorted, twisted, torn, dented, you name it... it's ruined. Get some new lug nuts. Stay away from chrome, they'll rust, solid stainless is too soft. Lug nuts need to be hardened steel, hence the OEM stainless covered hardened nuts. Get a torque wrench, a couple jack stands, wheel chocks, and a floor jack. Rotate them whenever you want, and you won't trash your lug nuts. Takes less time than making an appointment to get it done, and you won't be pressured to buy a cabin air filter. haha.

I know it sucks, but wheels are destined to take some abuse. I used to obsess about stuff like this, but honestly life is better when you don't sweat the little things. Do what you can to reasonably protect them, but don't stress out when the inevitable happens.

I think I would have demanded the dealer to provide a Jedi Knight to rotate the wheels with the force, ensure no scratches were applied

A few things you should know:
    1. Service writer often doesn't talk to the techs for basic jobs like tire rotation. The techs picks up the work order on paper along with the keys, then goes to work.
    2. Dealer techs are typically flat-rate (i.e. they get paid a fixed amount per job), so there's an incentive to work as quickly and take as many shortcuts as possible. Some dealer techs even use power tools on spark plugs. If wheels come off at a dealer, expect an impact wrench with torque stick.

I paid extra to have the Jedi Knight install my wheels. I believe I'm owed a refund. :pccoffee:

^After Order 66, Jedi services became considerably more expensive.
Usually they just hammer on an extractor socket and use the same impact wrench they normally use. Something like: https://www.amazon.com/ABN-Emergency-Remover-Stripped-Removal/dp/B01LWISVR0/

Sith apprentice. ToyotaCare isn't gonna pay a sith lord to rotate your tires. :p

I'd have told you to go elsewhere from the get go. Lifes too short for customers like you.

Went outside earilier today to try and remove that swollen lug nut that Toyota said they couldn't remove. It took me two minutes to get off and wasn't even difficult. I have no idea what they were doing back there. Need to figure out how they rotated the other three tires so I can finish it...

Not sure how you do a 3 tire rotation. I would bet they didn't do anything and gave you a line of bullshit after they f'd your wheel. Plus only rotate front to back. Don't cross.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
    Next time do it yourself.

    End thread.
