Wait, what? Is that all highway? I drive 90% of my tanks of gas and I average around 17 mpg in my 2017 Limited.

I loved the red in pictures, but after someone said Barcelona red is an "old man, mid-life crisis color", I just don't see it the same anymore. I also had a red R6 that I dearly miss.

X2 right there! Almost every carpenter, electrician, plumber and cable worker has a white truck or van and that's why I can't stand them!

The cement color has really grew on me after seeing my friends TRD Pro Tundra up close. The pearls in that paint change color in the sunlight as you walk around it but that may be a good and a bad thing. I couldn't imagine a body shop trying to match it! If you want it all, easy to keep clean, not too hard to match and not look like you're going to fix a kitchen sink then I say get a silver truck but of course MGM is still my favorite color!

Just visit your local dealerships, and drool to your hearts content. Waiting until the 18's arrive might be your best option. You won't get much money for the add on you installed, so you might want to remove them before trading.

Everyone is saying go for broke....but I mean, if you really want to go for broke, do it in the most bro way possible right?

Just take the hit...worth it :p

But on a serious note. I have Barcelona red, but if cement had been available in non-pros at the time, I would have probably gone with that. At least where I am at, inferno and blue are the two most common colors it seems.

Insurance costs more? I pay $85/month with great coverage and $500 deductible.
I live in a hilly area and I average around 18mpg combined with a lift and 33s.

    I say trade it in.

    Trade it in.

No one whose done a bunch of research on, or who owns a Pro will say something stupid like "It's just an OR with Fox suspension." Do some research yourself to fully understand the product line.

The Pro is probably the only one you won't be able to find fairly easy.

Don't wait on cement coming out of the Pro line.

Go see colours in person, be willing to drive a little for the right deal and start making phone calls to see who will do what for you.

Make a list of options you absolutely need and one of what you want and don't make the same mistake twice.

WAIT.... the cement color can be purchased on a 2018 TRD Sport?! Will it not be specific to TRD Pros anymore?! I cant believe this!! I wanted cement color sooo bad but didn't want to fork up the cash for a pro

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
The "city/highway MPG" thing is so much different to different people depending on "their" definition and where "they" live. For example I live in a smallish town with many stop signs/lights and many hills. I define this area as city driving and I am getting 17.5 -19 mpg on my truck (4x4 SR5 v6 auto stock tires and wheels. On the other hand this area has a lot of people who commute here from 20-30 miles outside of the city. They say they get 20-21 plus on their "city MPG". What they forget, is that they probably drive 40 -60 miles/day at 60mph. Now if they want to call that "city mpg" that's fine. They are only lying to themselves. A couple weeks ago I took a trip of about 2000 miles to Hilton Head. Of course this was mostly Hwy. and some heavy stop and go in big cities. Speeds from crawling to 77-79 mph. I calculated my over-all at about 21. I got as high as 24 (according to the onboard calculations) while driving in the cool evening air. This was fine with me -- actually better than I expected driving at those higher speeds -- truck was loaded down (topper full) on the return trip.

Moral of the story -- whether or not if you feel good (or maybe don't care) about your MPG's -- just ask questions about the truck(s) you are comparing yours to and how and where the trucks are being driven. I probably could NEVER get as good as mileage (in any vehicle) as my wife does as I feel she pokes along too much. But that's the way it is, and after 49 years of marriage -- I have learned to shut-up (when she can hear me) about her driving habits!

I live in San Diego too, but I simply do not need 4x4 so I didn't buy it. I don't live in Baja, though, and for any camping or anything I do my truck will do just fine.

Hell I lived in Michigan and never used my 4x4. Even alot of people who have 4x4 don't use it much except for 'to keep it lubed'. It's nice to have but not necessary.

MGM is an awesome color, I say stick with that (but trade for a 4x4). If you really do want it, you won't be happy until you do. If you can swing it that is.

Having a 4x4 in socal is almost entirely for recreational purposes, there are very few situations I can think of out here where you'd "need" 4wd...unless you live up in Big Bear where it snows or out in the middle of the desert where you get thunderstorms all year. Otherwise, we never see the kind of inclement weather that warrants it. What we do have though, are TONS of 4x4 trails to explore. If you want it and know that you'll use it, get it. If you aren't sure or think you might on rare occasions, stick with your current truck.

Or just do whatever you want lol.

Don't make decisions on gas mileage when buying a 4x4 truck.

I traded in my 16 TRD sport 2wd. Originally paid 30,600. Dealer gave me 29,500. They have it listed for 33,170. You'll do fine on your trade in.

    I made the same choice.

Wow that's a big hit after only having the old truck for 3 payments worth of time, it's expensive to get rid of a new vehicle even if it is a Tacoma.

Do it man. Can never go wrong with 4x4 and that chatter about insurance costs and mpg was just the dealer trying to get you in a truck. Its moot in real life.

The Cement color will be available on the OR and Sport for 2018 and Calvary Blue will replace it on the Pro.
