    Why?
It isn't a weapon problem. It is the person who handles the weapon and thinks that you have to pull the trigger to clear the weapon problem.

Only if you put something in the trigger well which overrides the safety and pulls the trigger.

No exit wound just a shredded jump seat and about a 6" gash in the sheet metal with a spray of copper and lead into the passenger side cab corner. didn't even find a dent in the path of travel on the exterior. Pretty unimpressive for 147gn projo going 2695 fps ELD Match. This happened months ago and I'm just now able to discuss it so I was still pretty ashamed of myself while performing the autopsy and didn't take any pics of the carnage that we all expect to see.

Exactly. There is no such thing as an accidental discharge. It was a negligent discharge.

I am disheartened that someone who claims to be into gun safety would dare call it an accidental discharge. Anyone with training would never use the term.

ADs are often defined as equipment failure, while NDs are user caused.

Remington 700s going off on their own due to light trigger sears are a good example of an AD.

Right, my buddy did that with my 12 gauge couple weekends ago, thought it was empty, pulled the trigger. Almost gave my truck a diy sunroof.

    back to bone stock.

OP. i will never make fun of you. probably jinx myself in the process. i get it. human error. happens when you are human.

i am not familiar with the AR stuff. how did it happen again? i read your description and i got lost. you visually cleared the chamber when you opened the slide..where did the bullet come from? the magazine was inserted? i have a glock and i walk myself thru a mental process..with a glock you do have to pull the trigger to release the slide. i am VERY aware of it. but i can easily see how it can happen. its why the next rule is to have it pointed in a safe place.

can igI a word in edgewise regarding the original question? Or all you gun cunts, err, I mean nuts not gonna let me?

    To the OP:

Does the SRS light come on during the initial key turn? This is the light test cycle
Do your other dash lights come during the test cycle of the dash lights.

Always, always remove any magazine before clearing any firearm. You must have been in a hurry, not seeing the brass in the top of the mag. It was right there.

Even with light sears, you still have to pull the trigger, most just don’t go off. Could be considered negligent if it was basement gunsmithing at home that lightened the sear.
