All jokes aside, we all make mistakes sooner or later. Just gotta learn from it and move on. I carry my firearm almost 24/7 and I've always thought about accidental discharges. I dont know if you have one or not but i would look into investing in a IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit). Idk where you live but if that happened deep in the woods and u put a hole through your leg or someone else's leg, you would have minutes before they bleed out. I keep a kit within arms reach if i ever need it. I put together my own but you can buy premade kits that comes with a tourniquet, and basic bleed control supplies

Good advice. I always keep a tourniquet in my glove box at minimum.

He intentionally pulled the trigger. Many folks do this to let the hammer down while the gun is "empty". With an AR I do the opposite, I have a mag inserted on a closed bolt, hammer back and safety on. This allows me to already have the safety engaged when you charge the weapon(a good thing IMO). Many(maybe most) AR triggers won't let you have the safety engaged when the hammer is down, which means you can't have the safety on when charging the rifle unless the hammer is already back.

Glocks are a different story, I like to release the striker if it's unloaded which causes the trigger to be at the rear position. This gives me a quick visual reference that it is unloaded. A Glock cannot have a round in the chamber if the trigger is back. Having said that, always properly clear a gun when handling, which includes visually inspect the chamber.... and ensure a mag isn't in the gun when allowing the slide(or bolt in OP's case) go forward. In OP's defense, if he is normally used to 20 rnd mags which stick out more, the stubby mag could be easily overlooked. FYI, with much experience you will know if the rifle would have picked up a round when letting the bolt forward, it makes a much different sound. ;)

this has to be the most thought out ingenius sinster Troll thread so far, I shot my truck and now the Cruise control don't work, anybody got any idea how to fix it. and now we got a gun safety vs. accident run on flame war. by the way this is only the OPs 2nd thread, dead giveaway.

I dunno. It doesn’t have that feel of our typical troll thread. It lacks the subtle aroma of bullshit. And he actually posted some pics, another surprise.

I think at this point we’re more interested in what’s happening to the truck than he is.

And if it turns out that it IS a troll thread? Then it’s one for ages.

IMO, a stashed tourniquet should have a thick sterile compress/dressing/abd pad together with it. I just wrap the two together with a rubber band or in a ziploc.
