but after a good weekend of wheeling, and getting my moneys worth out of skids and sliders repeatedly, I have a weird grind, shutter or vibration going on. Sometimes at idle I can feel it and sometimes when Im going slow forward or backward with a little bit of turn in the wheel. Didnt get much of a chance to dive in yet though.

Obviously Im going to make sure my skids arent rubbing on something but I dont really know what else it could be. The fact that I can sometimes feel/hear it sitting still is what kind of worries me.

Anybody had a similar feeling after a few underbody bangs?

If you're feeling it at idle, I'm at a complete loss of ideas

The only thing I have an inkling of suspicion about is the skids. I didnt have time to check the bolts but when I beat on them with my fist just to see if anything jumped out at me, I could hear metal banging into metal. As in, it wasnt already touching and I closed the gap. My first step is going to be to check all the skid bolts. When I hear/feel it at idle, I can actually feel it in the floorboard.

Only things I can think of is something rubbing the flywheel or a random bolt somewhere, possibly on the skid or something that got hit, came loose and only vibrates every once in a while

Well if you can feel it on the floor board, its something close-by. Maybe let the truck idle and listen underneath for a rattle?

I tried that and it of course wasnt doing it when I stopped that time. Plus it was hard to hear over my old lady laughing at me for crawling under a running truck in the Costco parking lot.

Its more of a vibration type thing than a rattle.

Check out exhaust. Either rubbing on skid or heat shields.

You’re gonna have to hold on to the slider to check it out while someone drives down the road. And video it

I did see some dirt sitting on the dip in the skid where it drops under the exhaust. I need to get it out obviously but I dont think that that is causing the issue.

Id check the skids. Occasionally mine rattles if I get little rocks stuck between the skid and the exhaust pipe
