The problem I’m having is the now there is no sensor to control the blinking and it’s rate has gone as if there were a short. I know that it has something to do with the relay, but I have found anything concrete. I’m just trying to silence the ticking, the rate doesn’t bother me

You need to put a resistor in,they clip onto the wire going into your tail light. Auto parts store carries them.

I also replaced my tail lights with 4” LEDs.

I replaced the stock flasher relay with an LED relay so no fast flashing.

You could also use resisters 1E40E4FC-65FE-4226-B63D-6E3DAD2DBFA4.jpg

I just went to O'Smellys and got an LED flasher as I have LED headlights. Fixed it and easy to swap that out.
