You cant afford a superior product?! Gotta start saving! Lemme know when you need a tow - i'll install a tow hitch (cause the avalanche didnt come with one) and i'll help you out!

Nah, thats cool. Us avalanche owners took up a creed, "If you see anyone in distress, find out how to make it worse"

I know I'm going against the creed by helping tow you at some point.. but that would be just too much. I hope you understand

If that's the case, I suppose making it worse would be me purchasing a Tacoma. Would you like to make a generous donation toward that?

Just go back to the same dealer but test drive a different truck.

    They make trucks
They make 'em exactly the same way
One or two of 'em turn out
    to be something special

It was a really small dealership. They only had two 2010 V6 models, and one was on the pedestal above all the cars. The only other one I test drove. lol. I'ma check out some other dealers too.

I just got mine a week ago and I am trying to get over the ticking noise. I only notice it when there is an obstruction (i.e. drive-thru's or barriers on the highway) and the window is down. It sounds like it is common and harmless though. I did the same thing you did, got all hyped up and finally test drove one. From then on I was hooked and ended up getting a new one even though I was looking to buy used at first. I love it though!

There is actually a very simple do it yourself TSB on the ticking noise.

    1) While driving, reach to the right until your hand is firmly on the stereo on/off button (make sure the stereo is in the 'on' position)

    2) Crank the knob all the way to the right

    3) Sit back and enjoy the muzak! :D

On a side note...why is the OP a senior member and yet doesn't even own a Tacoma yet?? Just curious.

I'd say don't buy it. Why would you buy a new vehicle that had a rattling sound? Don't believe the jive talking salesman.
