I am now. If that's not an updated 1st gen than what is?

And you all are confusing TSB's w/ recalls.

I mostly bought near end of life models that had all the bugs worked out for daily drivers for the wife and I in the past and never had problems with them for 10 + years each .I had my last new truck for 18 years . The downside was they always looked like an old vehicle after 2 or 3 years because the new model was restyled .
It never really bothered me but this time it was different because I was hoping I will never need to buy another one . If I have to I will but only if I have to because it is unreliable . If Toyota does not come out with a gen 4 for 10 years as they have in the past , my 2016 will be like having a new one for , well , ten years . I just wanted a truck that will start , run and drive , and do what I need it to do for about 6000 miles a year for the next 10 + years , and not look like it is way out of date . It must be reliable to pull my boats and get me to the lakes and rivers down these gravel roads around me .
Now tires is another thing all together . Just had my 2nd flat from sharp gravel today with the Goodyear Kevlar tires . I think I see E series tires within the next year or 2 .

Speaking of tires I just put on new KO2s less than 3000kms or so. Trading the Tacoma soon will be like setting fire to that purchase as no dealer will give you more trade in value because you bought nicer tires.

Hopefully next summer again. Need to hit Glacier National Park and “The road to the sun highway”. Went past it 12 years ago when I drove To Calgary.

I’m always happy to Yellowstone 0111DD32-DC5B-44B1-8B5A-785E58E3AD6C.jpg

I bought a brand new ‘05 OR when it was released... first year 2nd Gen... drove it problem free for many years and about 140k miles. Just saying. Kudos to you for the positive attitude about it though. Sure, there may be kinks with first year new engineering and design... but I’d hardly say I would expect it.

Yep I hope to keep this one a long time and as many miles as possible. I said the same about my 17 Sr that I traded for this one, but glad I did. Best of luck to all who choose to keep their trucks.

Same here, just at 47k miles. It’s a keeper.

    quoting me !
It's New years eve and I am thinking all about the past and the future . I am still happy with my 2016 Tacoma at 25600 miles . We just went to visit for Xmas and found out that my brother in law bought a 2019 TRD OR and my Granddaughter's fiance leased a 2019 TRD OR .
My Dad bought a new 2019 Prius . He has a 2018 Dodge Ram also but at 84 , I think he wanted a new hybred tech car before no he longer ...... Anyway , I drove the Prius and I would not mind a Tacoma Hybred when it comes out . It drove pretty good. The future is coming , and it looks pretty , pretty good .
    Happy New Years all !

Glad to hear you're still happy. My '16 is still treating me well and i don't plan on ever selling. keep shooting for the long term. With everything it's give/take. I still smile every time it saves my ass. Treat her right and she'll return the favor

2018 30k. It’s my 6 th toyota truck between every generation of Tacoma l an FJ cruiser and a 5th gen 4 runner.
It, is probably already becoming sentimental, because it has driving me through some major changes!

I'm in it for the long haul. My 2018 is 16 months old and just tripped 30K yesterday. Besides dealing with the TSS recall, it's been a solid truck. Don't know if it will make it to 400K like my (1996) 1st Gen, but I'm going to give it a shot.
