So I'm pretty positive at this point in time i'm buying a new Tacoma probably a 2020 6MT Offroad. Sadly I have to wait till probably next spring or summer just to save up a down payment for one and i literally just think about owning one everyday....What it's like to row through the gears and just drive that baby. Someone help me.

Cant speak for 2020. But i love driving mine. Took me about 2k miles to find the sweet spots when shifting. 1st gear is super short and i normally shift between 2800 and 3500. Youre gonna love it man.

The 5MT is similar in feel to the 6, so my 2 cents: 1st, 2nd, 3rd are notchy/stiff, the rest are butter. The clutch doesn't release until the last 3rd of the pedal stroke. A short-throw shifter would be awesome IMO. The throttle-by-wire delay takes some getting used to, after coming from a cable. ...I still love mine.

The 6MT is the right choice. You won’t be disappointed

My 6 MT is butter smooth. My 5 MT was butter smooth after feeding it Redline syn. My 1985 5 MT was smooth but not butter smooth, Redline not available back then.

I bought a brand spankin new 6MT in 2008. I love it even more today than I did then. It was well worth the price of admission. The wait only sweetens the deal. I lusted through some years of school. It was a pretty sweet reward for completion.

I think I have Tacoma Fever.

The first step towards recovery is admitting you have a problem.

I get real smooth shifts by not pushing the clutch in all the way and not letting the revs fall too far.

My wife still bangs through the gears which causes me anxiety.
