I think it's pretty cool when other Tacomas park near each other

You just say, “hey, all cool here, I just want to take a picture of your truck to post online, and... hey, no need to get out of your truck... what are you doing? Put the bat down! Oh my Go.....”:bananadead:

I've just asked if there's a person present and nobody's ever said no. 98% of the time there's nobody around and I just take the picture, then there was that time last December when we were visiting family in Norfolk, Virginia. I saw a 3rd Gen DCSB Limited and a mint 1st Gen parked next to each other on my aunt and uncle's street, and I proceeded to take pictures with my SLR. These trucks were parked outside the neighbor's house, albeit on a public street but outside a window, and it did not occur to me that the neighbor had a full view of his truck (and me) through said window. I am not sure if the 1st Gen belonged to the neighbor, but the 3rd Gen did. I'm taking a picture, and the next thing I know this scary-looking bald British guy (he had an accent; maybe he had a Hilux back home?) comes to the window, opens it, and asks what I'm doing. I told him exactly what I was doing and he shut the window and disappeared as quickly as he'd appeared. My aunt and uncle later explained to me that there'd been a rash of car burglaries in their neighborhood (and this was NOT a cheap neighborhood; houses were brand new and ranged in price from probably half a million to two or three million!). What still annoys me to this day is that people have formed this untrue (and unfair) link between photography and crime...

Yeah, it sucks. Also, trying to infom people that you have a right to photographotograph anything in public view (and on public street), sometimes doesn't work too well, even though you might be right....

Actually, I told the neighbor that I owned a Tacoma myself and I just thought it was cool to see a 1st Gen and a 3rd Gen parked next to each other. He said "Okay fine," and disappeared back inside the house...

That's the way I've always done it; Whether it's a Tacoma or a Chevy pickup, 99% of people are rather flattered when I explain what I'm doing. I did have one guy attempt to reach through the window of my Tacoma and grab my $700 camera after he caught me taking pictures of his GMC Sonoma, but I anticipated that he was nuts; I kept my truck in drive and my foot on the brake, ready to move my foot over to the gas if things got out of hand.

I had no idea this was a thing... I thought it was just me! Funny how I never cared to do this back when I was driving a Camry.

Vermont license plates are simple and cool at the same time, plus they're my favorite color!

You have many 2WD Tacos in the Green Mountain State?

There are some, but not many. You really need the 4WD capability for much of the year...especially if you live on a dirt road. Most 2WD's I see are in the Burlington (city) area.
