Am I the only one that got the "Hey Tacoma owner, we fucked up and we want you to bring your truck by the store so we can make sure that it's still safe" letter?

Was your truck covered under the frame TSB? I'm surprised you're just seeing this now. Mine was fine but treated by Toyota in the summer 2014, over a year ago. Just get the frame replaced. I know 3 or 4 guys here in Massachusetts that had their frames replaced under the TSB. None of them had any issues.
The dealers are experts at this now since they've done so many. You'll probably get the new leaf springs and brake lines included.

If you're not too fond of the Gen3, this may be a good opportunity to grab a 2015 leftover at a discount if you decide to trade. I don't see any reason why they'd try to low the trade because of the frame. It's going to need a new one regardless.
Good luck in whatever you decide.

If you all hot to trot instead of correcting the issue, and you don't like the looks of the 16's, see if there aren't some 15's still around. Still new, still warranty.

I'm not much on new/warranty. Has it done you much good?

A good deal on a newer, low mileage, rust free unit might be possible. Even if you have to travel south to buy it.

Another thought. You're going to spend more to trade (to whatever) than you would spend on the ancillaries that come with a frame swap.

Don't be one of those people with more money than sense. At least find out what the $ for corrective action on your truck, that you love so much, would be OOP to you.

Shoot, I wish my '05 needed its frame replaced. Where else do you get a free frame upgrade that eliminates the engine mount design issues of the '05 and '06? Unfortunately, no rust here in Calif even in the snow.

How do I prevent this from happening to my 2015? What is the easiest to apply do-it-yourself corrosion protection I can do in my garage? So many threads and different chemicals out there, my head is spinning!

I believe 90% of Taco buyers would gladly pay an extra $1500 for the truck if it had a galvanized frame and it wouldn't cost Toyota more than a few hundred to galvanize each frame. It would solve the rust issue for good.

Sounds right, but then again I'm flying on prescription pain killers right now so your mileage may vary.

New set of 35's. Wanted to check out the Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx since I do have to throw down some highway miles fairly regularly.

You'd think that the average person would have contacted their local Toyota store or maybe even clicked the damn link that helps you learn about the free frame replacement program that others have conveniently placed in this very thread.

If you are so naĂŻve thinking that a senator or congressman gives a damn about you and your problems, than a have a ocean front property for sale in Arizona.

You'd think that Toyota would have solved this problem ages ago so that people wouldn't have to go through this problem in the first place.

The frame replacement program was created "ages ago." Got my letter a very long time ago. We understand that people get frustrated with situations and vent here from time to time but then we got to read about congressmen, mechanical vaginas, and trust issues.

Quit crying and call your local Toyota store and speak to someone, you know, like adults used to do when they had an issue with a product.

Ok I finally quit crying and called lol...
Im taking it in next week. They told me on the phone that they have done almost 500 frames already. Good thing is now they have plenty of practice. He said they wont let me leave with truck if it fails. He said 2-3 days of work
