IFS lifts will experience this if lifted above 2ish inches. The OME lifts you have maybe more so. Google it.How old is your lift? Can the shock be worn? Are you hearing bad ball joint?

Just as an extra data point my OME lift does the same thing. 885 springs with OME nitro chargers. FJC

    Speed bump thud on extension

Oddly though it is only the driver side. After around 300 miles or so the lift has settled quite a bit which is nice because it had way too much lift. Ride is smoother too. Also bumper/ winch/ skids brought it down too.

Hm, that’s strange that it’s only on drivers side, should be both at the same time.

How much lift did you achieve? Also, did you measure how much down travel you have?

Treat it as a data point.
Other week I was rotating tires and measured the the full droop on 885x with 5100.
The number is identical to yours.

    OME suspension,
in not sure if mine is doing it on one side or both its hard to tell. but my suspension is also settling and feels a lot better then when installed. I have the 887 on a access cab and did give me more lift then expected.

I have not measured my down travel but I could.

It was over 3” of lift from my measurements. 3.5 or so. Now it’s down to about 2.5 maybe a tiny bit more less than 1/4” I’d say. Still have sliders and t case skid to install as well.

My downtravel is 2 1/4” on both sides.

An extra inch would have been nice though.

They are advertising them as 2 -2.5 for fj
I got 1.8 out of them on the stock, which within advertised 1.5-2.0 range for 3rd gen.

Yeah and the cv angles were pretty bad too.

Here’s my best before after gap pictures.

Unfortunately no good pictures with bigger tires before lift.

The 885’s are advertised with 2.5-3 with 70-180lbs so not surprised I had more lift.

Really tired of the noise. Thinking of ditching the ome’s and going with something else. Could it be the design of the ome shock? Seems like a lot of threads regarding the ome “clunk” with most only on the drivers side. Besides the not enough travel issue that is.

Anyone have any better luck with 6112’s or dobi IMS, Ironman pro foam..? Less lift= less chance of clunk?

Today on the trail it just sounds so harsh. More irritating is that it’s only the driver side 95% of the time. Feel like I heard the passenger side today too but not entirely sure.

Measured my down travel. 1.5” driver, 1.85” passenger. Think I might try 884 springs and see if I can bring the lift down a bit.

I just wanted to hopefully post a solution for some people.

I removed a small trim packer spacer on the driver side. 5mm. Under the spring acting as a preload spacer. Through the motion ratio that was netting me about .40” of lift on that front drivers coil. Well, no more top out. It gave me back some down travel and have had no harsh top outs!

Not sayin it can help everyone but could be a potential option to try. Maybe the OME's make a worse noise on top out than others but my other option was to try some 884 coils which also would have worked but would have lost quite a bit of lift I think.
