That dealership is trash, see my post about the same I made back in Aug/Sept. this year. They had an online sales rep send me a price sheet via phone that was showing MSRP for a pretty basic TRD Sport and then switched me to a scumbag floor sales guy when I drove 45 min to put deposit in person, whom didn't bring up a 6K markup until he was showing me the finance rates/payment options, which I noticed were significantly higher than expected for a ~41K truck :)

Pet peeve of mine... all the dealers I have visited their on line inventory is days if not weeks outdated and when asked, their typical response is we must have missed that (sold) vehicle/we haven't had time to update the web site. I've even asked about a vehicle on their site then, drove to dealer to find it gone and been told ahhh... we didn't go out and look but, went by their own inventory sheet.

Have 0 issues with markups as long as it's clearly advertised. No one complains when they go to sell their 5 year old Tacoma for the same price they paid for it new, so you can't complain about markups. They are free to set whatever price they want, simply ignore the ones that mark things up and find one that doesn't. Life is too short to be angry about "stealerships"

    this!

I mean how many people on here have sold and/or gloated about the ridiculously increased resale value of their used Tacoma?
The dealer and Toyota is doing the same.

I just got my 2022 personal property tax bill, and the great state of Missouri wants in on the fun too!

There's a very large dealership in the North Central part of MD that routinely has a $10k market adjustment on Tacomas and 4 Runners. Same one that had a $30k market adjustment on a Dodge Challenger next door.
I'll never do business with them other than warranty work, due to their slimy sales dept.

I have been looking a bit. I will never buy from places that did this. Anyone paying these is going to get bent over on resale.

Sounds just like Family Toyota in Arlington, Texas. Their options and adds run 6-7k though. But it’s all MSRP. Might be why I never bother with them.

My local scumbag dealer is offering a $3995 package deal on top of MSRP. Unfortunately one of the wealthiest towns in the country so people probably pay or negotiate it.

In central FL when I was looking last month everyone was $1500 over sticker. Yet the trucks never sold and they kept asking me when I was buying. I walked out $2k under sticker plus TTL. When interest rates started going up they got very slow very fast. It’s still a very frustrating process for sure but patience pays off.

One of the worse comments on here lmao.

OP, there are dealers who aren't charging markups and never did. My sister just got into a RAV4 from the highest-volume dealer in the state. Yeah she paid sticker but I know the GM, she thinks markups are "insulting" and "bad customer service." Took a couple months to get the car (she ordered it) but yeah.
