Thank you for the information my fellow owners. I must have missed the part in the manual where you weren't supposed to steer (turn) while in 4H. I'll re-read the manual again and take my licks Monday.

I appreciate the constructive criticism and may god bless you all.

    Thanks again.

This is my first 4-Wheel drive vehicle and I thought I did a pretty good job reading the manual, but it appears I did not.

If I jumped the gun and unnecessarily bashed Toyota, I apologize. I meant no offense at any individual, I assure you. Chalk it up to frustration and what appears to be ignorance.

Again, if anyone who took this personally is offended, I apologize.

No problem Tom, no offense taken here. :) Ignore those who think personal attacks are appropriate, they're not.

I hear the 2012 tacoma comes with skid steer so you can turn in 4WD at anyspeed without binding.

I heard plenty about the 2012. Nothing is proven true until it's from Toyota.

Nah I call bullshit on all those saying driving for a few minutes in 4hi and even taking a turn would be enough to destroy it. No way. I've driven Toyota 4x4s for 15 years now. Bound up the drive line plenty of times on road, off road, in snow. It happens. But I never broke a shaft or a differential or a transfer case. If that's all it took to break his truck then it's still unacceptable. It's not a friggen china doll.
