I typically listen to a USB drive on long drives and I was wondering, what formats will it support ?

I have music on a HD at home and it's in a multiplicity of formats. I know the system won't support everything, but aside from MP3 and wav, will it support FLAC, WMA, others...

    Thanks in advance

What year truck? I think the newer head units might support more formats. I believe my 2017 only supports MP3.

Sorry, just saw your Sig, 2019.

If you have a '19 with the original HU it only supports MP3, WMA and whatever the Apple equivalent of those two is. No high resolution files like FLAC, WAV, etc.

Edit: Apple equivalent is apparently AAC. See below.

I actually decided to just put a song from about 5 different types and see what played, which is only MP3 and WMA files. I didn't expect it to play the FLAC, but I'm really disappointed it won't play WAV files. You'd think at this point it would play just about everything...

That's why I have a Kenwood HU in mine now. It'll play pretty much everything and the sound is much better.

wav files are about 5 times the size of mp3 files and listening in a truck, no way you'll tell the difference.
many easy free options out there to convert wav to mp3.

edit: well, 5 times the size is my recollection. i have not worried about that for 25 years. many compression variables can skew things one way or the other...but suffice wav is needlessly large when mp3 is pretty darn good and fine for a vehicle.
