There was one over on Wander the West, I'll try to find it. Something about it just didn't look right, way tooooo long. Found this one with a Four Wheel Camper on it.

I was thinking it would look weird. Maybe just need to bob the rear and move the axle.... I don't want a short bed dammit.

I don't think it would look weird. Of course, you either like the look of a flatbed or you don't. The rear end does get visually light but I dig that. You can always run with the removable sides on the flatbed (on my UTE anyway) and gain back some of the visual balance. A big thing with flatbeds is the angle at which they sit. Most folks (like the pic above) don't raise the rear of the flatbed enough and it ends up looking saggy in the back and it doesn't match the lines of the truck. Looks like the truck is bent. I have raised mine twice and now I'm happy with the 'stance'. It's just spacers...it's easy. Not sure about other flatbeds but that angle is important to how it looks.

How'd you bring it home and how much did it set you back? I would love to have a bigger tank.

I can agree with this. Often poorly executed, they just don't look right. I will be playing with some modeling to see what I can come up with. I love the looks of the flatbed "utes" sold in the rest of the world. I just don't want it to look like someone wishing they had a full size truck.

Interesting perspective. Nothing wrong with wanting maximum capability out of a smaller truck. It's okay to WANT a smaller truck. Full size trucks are absolutely huge. We have no interest.

It was expensive with import fees and whatnot. Had it shipped from Australia because the few places that were 'distributors' turned out not to be. I wouldn't do it again. I'm not sure if the place in Bend, OR is still making tanks or not.

Dang, well thanks for the responce, I'll have a poke around the bet and see if I can get more infor on those Bend OR tanks. Might be time for me to do some research into fabry-cobblin myself a super tank.

And chance you have some good pictures of the installed tank and how it mounts without getting in the way of anything?

Will the tank work with a Y-pipe re-route?

Hard to get pictures under there. Everything is so dark regarding the mounts. I have an exhaust re-route on my truck

Every time I see a flat bed I want one I rarely see them. If I ever did a rear shock relocate, a flat bed would be the next thing I'd want. I like the trays that are available for the land cruisers, and I'd like to see a Baja designs RTL utilized for the rear lights.

That Norweld Flatbed with the ladder rack bars looks awsome! now if they just had a nice canvas top you could pull over and make it a dry space for weekend gear hauling and probably make that rear ladder bar removable for odd sized cargo loading.

i just went from Meh a flatbed prolly wouldnt really work for me to... I WANT THAT!

maybe in a few years, maybe i can get someone to total my stock bed and take the money and run.

Yeah, I need to get my fuel filler sorted. I've got time. It works okay enough for now. The Norweld version is pretty decent.
