This question may have been asked before, but does anybody know how I can at least make the drivers seat power without replacing the seat.

Maybe a base modification out of another Toyota model. Has anyone done this or researched it?

I have a 2007 4Runner and the power seat looks like it would almost bolt right in. So there's that possibility.
Maybe just the motor and stuff from the 4Runner.

I'd like to have a power seat too but I haven't taken the time to unbolt both of them and try the fit. Yet.

4Runner seats are pretty damn close.

I thought about that, I wonder if the base alone would work or are you saying the 4runner seats are the same? Because I love the sport seats. And I don't know why Toyota doesn't offer this as an option as long as they offer it in the 4runner. They use the same TRD Sport wheels.

The 4Runner is a premium off-road vehicle... not really a work truck. Also, you pay out the ass for one of those.

Most likely you will need to replace the whole seat. The seats have motors and gears at the base and the back of the seat. The gear/moors in the back of the seat allows the seat to recline. You should be able swap seats then reupholstery them. That's if the mounts of the new seat match up to the existing mounting points of the Tacoma.

Just guessing...but I'd say...you'd need to replace the entire seat.

Not only because of all the motors & mechanisms that are attached to the seat/rails - but the controls/buttons are also located on the side of the seat (atleast on most power seats that I've seen). I'd be interested to see if someone does this. Although, the cost of the actual seats would probably be ridiculous!!

I think all 4runner power seats are leather so you'll need to transfer the cloth over from the Tacoma seat. I've thought about doing this as well since my wife is short and has a hard time seeing out of the truck.

Possibly might be able to get one from a salvage yard. That was the path I was going to take. I just want to know if anyone else has done this mod? Are the sea mounts the same?

Nope, priorities changed. My wife a Kia Soul someday so she's just going to use her MPV until we can get the Soul. But I'm still keeping the Taco.
