I am currently looking for a Tacoma to purchase. Preferably I would like for it to be a 2nd-3rd gen V6 manual trim but I am having trouble finding ones that are reasonable. What should I look for? Where should I look? Are you selling one? I'll take all the help I can get.

Welcome to TW! Prices on trucks are crazy right now. I bought a new one because prices were so high on the 3rd gens used. I would try on here, craigslist, Facebook marketplace, auto trader to see if you can find one. Dealers are going to be absurd.

Good luck. The manuals are out there but they only make up 5% of sales so there aren't many and the ones that are out there are going to ask a premium, especially considering there aren't many manual vehicles out there in general.

My advice is to not be afraid to travel and be patient. Use sites like Autotempest, CarGurus, etc. to find them across the country or at least within a distance you're ok with traveling to.

2nd gens, especially before the late 2000's are prone to frame rust issues, especially in northern regions. Later ones aren't immune, but they're not as bad. As a rule of thumb, it's best to avoid first model years of anything so probably don't go with the 2016 unless you're comfortable with it.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
read then read some more on both generations your looking at.

Knowing where you live is a big help.

    4x4 prerunner or a 5 lug 2wd??

How do you define reasonable ? $12,000.00 to $25,000.00 or more depending on age and condition.

Check out prices in your regional area .

    Happy Hunting
