I got the idea for doing the back speakers from a thread here on TW, since my truck didn't come with back speakers per say. The thread was super helpful. My truck came with the small speakers in the roof. I hated these speakers and disconnected them. I also rewired the front door speakers and of course the new back speakers that I put in the back.013.jpg 014.jpg 015.jpg 016.jpg 017.jpg 018.jpg 019.jpg 020.jpg

Very clean. Did I miss the page where you dropped in the LS?

Next added a leather wrapped steering wheel with red stitching. After I while bought the black factory steering wheel controls... thought they looked better with the new steering wheel. 001.jpg002.jpg004.jpg 005.jpg007.jpg

Next I bumped into a thread on TW when I was looking for a way to check my tranny temp. This thread was using a Scan Gauge 2. After a bit more searching on TW, I saw a thread that mounted this Scan Gauge 2 into the overhead console. 001.jpg

After a bit of body filler and a lot of sanding. I painted the 3D printed scan gauge 2 mount that I bought off eBay to a very close match to the overhead console.

The Scan Gauge 2 fits nice and tight in the mount. I had to drill a hole on the backside of the console to run the data cable through and down to the OBD II port beneath the steering wheel knee panel.

The next interior mod that I did to the truck was to add leather. I have had vehicles with leather but I have never added leather to a vehicle before. I added 2 tone black and grey leather Katzkin with red stitching to match the leather steering wheel for the front seats and just plain grey leather for the rear jumper seats and backing.

After rolling around for a little bit... I wanted to change the arm rest on the front doors to the same black leather as my seats. So I removed the panels and dropped them off with the shop that did my seats so they could use the same material. Then I reinstalled them. I think it added a nice balance to the doors.

I didn't like the factory automatic shifter height. So, I cut down the post to lower the shifter knob.

I removed the shifter... just to make it easier to work on.

Now to cut the threads lower to hold the shifter. I am only using the box to keep the metal chips from falling into the shifter unit.

Once the threads are cut... I need to cut off the length of the shifter post. I left the die on and put a nut down to where I wanted to cut and then laid the hacksaw blade against the nut and cut off the shifter post. Next, I removed the nut to help straighten the threads back. Then removed the die to correct the cut threads... I know this is over kill but I wanted my threads straight.

^Amazing build, just wow. I love the steering wheel. How much did it set you back to add the red stitching on it?

I love the steering wheel myself. The leather is super nice and high quality. I don’t know the full history or specs on the steering wheel. I bought it off eBay from a guy in Canada. He stated it was a full custom steering wheel. I was the only person to bid on it and won it for $485 shipped (about 2 years ago).

I finally got my Strictly Street Shorty Tailgate Spoiler. I really like the quality and build of this spoiler... totally worth the wait to get it and worth every penny in my opinion. Lots of care went into shipping of this spoiler.

My recommendation is to take your time installing this. It is a little more challenging than the instructions say and in my opinion you need more tools.

The plastic tailgate cover comes off with some slow and steady force. I did this with just my fingers and not tools required. Just be patient and start at one end and then the other end and meetup in the middle. This worked for me. Please keep in mind that older plastic tailgate cover may break the tabs because of the aging plastic.010.jpg 011.jpg 012.jpg
