That's wild seeing the cab up in the air like that.

Nice work! Looks like you're about ready to roll the new frame under.

from my plum draw drawings, I knew the crossmember for the transmissions where in the same location. I also knew they had the same model numbers with Toyota, also by researching I knew the mounts on tops were different. I had to modify the crossmember by moving the mount holes front (toward the engine) and inch... so far this is the only modification that I have done.

I used the X-Runner's rear end so I had to use the X-Runner's drive shaft which is a different length then the Pre-Runner's drive shaft but I had to use the yoke from the Pre-Runner drive shaft since I was using the automatic transmission and it was the correct size. The 2 yokes are different in length and diameter. I was very happy to see that this combination worked perfectly. I am sorry that I didn't take any pictures of the 2 drive shafts side by side to show how similar and how different they are. The best that I can tell is that the long drive shaft between the carrier bearing and diff is about one inch longer on one over the other. The carrier bearing is the same and the short drive shaft between the carrier bearing and the tranny are the same but the yokes are the same length up to the tranny but different lengths on the part with the splines that goes into the tranny and they are different in diameter of these splines.

That's interesting to know. Glad it worked together so well though!

Looks like he just did an engine swap. I do like the pictures and info that he has on the drive shaft.. that would have been helpful to know before doing my Pre-Runner frame swap for and X-Runner frame. I have been working on this for over a year now and it is finally coming along. I can't wait to finish this swap.

I have it all together. I took it for the first test drive and did a break in cycle on the new brake pads. So far, everything seems to be just fine. I am going to take it tomorrow to get an alignment and to get the A/C recharge, since I had to disconnect the lines when removing the cab. Man, this was a lot of work to lower a Pre-Runner 8 inches by doing a X-Runner frame swap but I am so happy right now... I just love it but have a lot more things I want to do in the future but I need to rest for awhile and recover. The last 7 days I have been working 10 to 12 hours a day on this truck mostly by myself but I did have my great brother-n-law come over and help me out a few times when I needed an extra hand. He is an awesome guy and I couldn't have done this without him. I really appreciate all the positive words from this forum.. y'all are a great community. I guess now, I can saw I have an "X-Pre-Runner" because it use to be a Pre-Runner ... lol

Congrats! Most people on here think of wild things they want to do to their truck, but never follow through. You, sir, are the exception.
