i was told by the owner of o'reillys auto shop that i have to put in a whole new head light system in my truck. i was wondering what kind of lighting kit i would need if i wanted to get the blue/purple lights.

blue/purple fatigues your eyes and if not in the right projector messes with everyone's eyes around you. Get 4300k if you want the most light output. 5000k if you want white and 6000k if you want white with a tinge of blue.

TRS can hook you up with a kit like he said^ I like the mine D2S but either mini kit is easy to install

If you want to be a poser, there's plenty of replacement bulbs that are blue/purple that's cheaper than kits.

If you want to be an asshole that blinds everyone on the road, there's plenty of HID kits to jam into your headlights.

If you want the real deal, get the components and do a retrofit.

And just so we're clear, the higher the number on the kit, does NOT mean it's brighter. It's just the color spectrum.

That blue/purple color you crave is actually worse visibility wise than the OEM halogen bulbs. Why would anyone want this is beyond me. I also think the cars running the higher kelvin bulbs screams "cheap" and "hey look at me I am running an illegal setup".
