I spent most of my youth in a very snobby rich town. My folks were far from wealthy but made many sacrifices so my sister and I could live in a quiet place. I didn't mind the Catholic school versus dealing with a bunch of preppy asses..especially since in the town school the jocks used to beat the crap out of the metalheads like me.

Moved into my current place back in September and took care of all the usual moving things such as utilities and other bills. Fast Forward to November, when my neighbor who has lived there for over a year decides that she and her family live at my address (I am #60 and she is number #14). She began to have all of their mail and packages sent to our house, but the worst came when she changed the utilities from her address to mine, thus cancelling my electric, gas, water, etc. Somehow they allowed her to make these changes, presumably because she told them some ridiculous story. I ended up having to prove to the utilities companies that this was in fact my address and after a week or two of arguing got all of my utilities set back up at my address in my name. While all of this was going on, my wife and I stopped over to their house a few times to deliver their mail and packages we wrongfully received, but the woman argued that her address is #60 and we are wrong, even though her house has a #14 in metal on her siding. She is a lunatic and has confronted me multiple times since this all began that I am stealing her mail. I fucking hate neighbors sometimes.

:censored: guys, I'm probably buying a house this summer and I should NOT have been reading this thread.

I'm definitely having my cop friends run the names/addresses of my potential next door neighbors before I sign the closing papers.

Tip, Go to the neighborhood at different hours of day/week and try to meet a few neighbors too, to ask their view.

Yeah, the visit the neighborhood and talk to the neighbors thing I already planned to do.

Plus had this detective I used to date tell me the spots she hasn't had to respond to. SLC PD has a cool thing too where they have plotted all of the SLC reported crimes on an interactive map, so you can see where and what happened when.

That information would be invaluable for someone looking for a new home, as not everything is as it appears from the outside and police logs in the newspaper aren't the full story.

If you're less than 5 minutes from mr. Frosty it's all worth it though......

I recently moved into the "big city', second largest in the state but population is only around 70K, went from 3 acres with a pond to a 3 bed 2 bath house on a small lot, only have neighbors on one side though, woods on the other so it's not bad.

This isn't my story, but a buddy of mine kept hearing all this booming coming from his neighbor's garage after the neighbor got home from work each day. One day curiosity got the better of my buddy and he went over to see what all the racket was. The neighbor told him that he would come home from work and then relieve all his pent up stress by whaling on pieces of lumber with a sledgehammer until he was spent. Then he'd go on about his evening.

Be careful with that one, I had a neighbor that left the "Baby Ruth" gift, so I confronted them about it, with them promising it would never happen again. A month later I keep seeing a B.R. surprise here and there, so once again confront my neighbor about it. Come to find out, I have a good sized Woodchuck family that was leaving those B.R. gifts and not the neighbor, so verify before accusing.

That age-old saying still holds true, "A photo is worth 1000 words" or video in your case.

Just had that happen this weekend, though I did drive up the street and see the dog in mid-shit.

The first time I asked my neighbors it was legit because some were from their dog, but after that, I was only seeing the Woodchuck Baby Ruth's and it didn't don on me what I was seeing could be anything other than from a dog. I'm the type of person that tries to give everyone the benefit of the dought, but in this case, I didn't do it and it bit me in my backside. :annoyed:
